My Jewish Problem: Jewish Superiority, Jewish Elite

Still it is interesting that my friend and I shared a premise: Jews are superior; for whatever reason Jewish culture is superior in areas of modern civilized achievement.

I went to a friend’s son’s bar mitzvah on Saturday and in some part because of my blog, and its discussion of Jewish politics, felt a little alienated. I forgot to get a yarmulke, then I ran to get one. I wondered who if anyone there had seen my ideas. Later, at the reception, I got into a discussion about these issues with an old friend, who was joined by a friend of his.

My friend said he was a secular Jew and asked me how I define myself. An assimilating Jew, I said. Shortly after that, his friend said, I don’t know what an assimilating Jew is, and walked away.

My friend is more intellectual. He said, What do you think will be lost if Jews assimilate into America? He answered his own question: the excellence that Jews have brought to any number of endeavors, science, the arts, finance, education, and so forth.

I said, But what if these qualities are more widely shared with assimilation? Will our excellence pull up others’ mediocrity?

He said, I think those qualities will be diluted. I.e., lost.

I said I wondered if the process wasn’t inevitable. Jews are successful and prominent, and the more successful people get, the more sociological pressure there is on them to melt in, including pressure on their children to marry out. That is what happened to me. I went to the Ivy League because my family pushed me to excel and I met people who weren’t anti-Semitic. I liked the water.

I had to admit to my friend my indifference as to whether the institutional element of my tribe persists. Religion may well be necessary to social structure and order, but we need some new ones. Pedophilia seems to be inherent to the Catholic church; and its hierarchy is covering it up. Islam has all kinds of problems, with free speech, patriarchalism, and the tolerance of violence. Indifference or disdain for Palestinian suffering seems inherent to the Jewish church. I don’t see why I should revere these institutions.

Still it is interesting that my friend and I shared a premise: Jews are superior; for whatever reason Jewish culture is superior in areas of modern civilized achievement.

In discussing My Jewish Problem on this blog, that’s a core Jewish value I would point to: Jewish exceptionalism. Belief in that idea underlies so much of Jewish social attitudes and achievement. (Maugham extols it in The Alien Corn; Hemingway throws it in Robert Cohn’s face in The Sun Also Rises). Larry Summers sought to broach the issue of Jewish innate intelligence in his notorious women-and-science speech of January 2005:

…Catholics are substantially underrepresented in investment banking, which is an enormously high-paying profession in our society;… white men are very substantially underrepresented in the National Basketball Association; and… Jews are very substantially underrepresented in farming and in agriculture. These are all phenomena in which one observes underrepresentation, and I think it’s important to try to think systematically and clinically about the reasons for underrepresentation.

Summers was bumping backwards into the fact of Jews as an elite. And, sociologically, Jewish achievement in the last generation is stunning. We entered the Establishment. A Jewish hedge fund guy who owns oil tankers chairs the American Enterprise Institute, the harbor to Mr. and Mrs. Cheney, and fount of bad ideas.

That’s why this is a public issue: this elite has conducted itself at times in Jewish ways that deserve discussion. Specifically, the neoconservative promotion of a deluded disastrous war out of some degree of love for Israel, and the degree to which their agenda has been afforded political cover by the larger, liberal Jewish community—that is the heart of my interest. When you consider the overall failure of the Jewish intelligentsia and of Democratic politicians to even look at the way religious zealots on the West Bank are affecting American foreign policy, you have to ask, What does secular Judaism mean? Does it also have its faith-based ideologies?

But outside of private conversations like the one I had at the bar mitzvah, these things are not discussed. Of course there is a reason for that. The last time Jews had such prominence in the life of societies, Europe in the first third of the last century, we know what happened. The Nazis pointed to the Jewish elite as a cause for extermination. So the Holocaust has acted as a ban on our even broaching the issue. Myself I don’t have any choice, it’s mine. It’s knit into the fabric of my life, from my tribal beginnings to my achievement phase as a youth, to my involvement in progressive ideas post 9/11.


We’re just smarter, that’s why

Over the weekend I watched Julius Genachowski, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission on CSPAN (talking about a good issue, phone companies stealing from their customers in quiet unauthorized ways) and I thought what I always think when I see Genachowski: I was once his boss.

I was an editor at a New York journalism publication in the 1980s, and Julius was an intern or an assistant there for a time while he was an undergraduate at Columbia.

My wife likes to point out here that I got fired from the job, and it was the last time I ever worked in an office. But I have a different point to make.

I got hired to that job by an old friend, who just happened to be Jewish. The top editor of the publication also happened to be Jewish, and so did the managing editor (who was very pro-Israel). There was one editor who wasn’t Jewish. Smart guy, and a poet. He used to say “neckbolt” a lot.

Genachowski was Jewish, with European refugees survivors in his own family, I believe. And the guy who came in as an assistant editor after me, who I helped hire, was also Jewish.

On CSpan the other day, Genachowski shared the stage with Sarah Rosen Wartell of the Center for American Progress and Joel Gurin, chief of the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau of the FCC. I’m guessing both are Jewish, but I don’t know.

Oh, and full disclosure: when I had a chance in 2008 to bring someone in as co-editor of this website, he was Jewish.

My friends and I came of age during the meritocracy. Standardized tests and all that. No more quotas. A good thing, too. Only the meritorious would get ahead.

But if you don’t think kinship networks mean anything, well– you can believe anything you like. I’m just too old to be that naive.


Do Jews Dominate in American Media? And So What If We Do?

At least a half dozen times in recent months, the suggestion has come from serious people that Jews predominate in the American media–that if we are not dominant, we are a major bloc. In a Yivo event on Jews in journalism I’ve blogged about, a questioner said that Jews’ outsize proportion in the media has granted us “a large influence over power.” In his groundbreaking paper on the New York Times’s role in shaping American policy toward Israel, Jerome Slater spoke of “religious beliefs and identifications” that affected the Times, and cited former executive editor Max Frankel’s admission in his memoir (one also cited by Walt and Mearsheimer): “I was much more deeply devoted to Israel than I dared to assert.”

Lately broadcast reporter John Hockenberry related that he wanted to do a piece on the hijackers’ motivation after 9/11 but that NBC executive Jeff Zucker scotched the notion:

“Maybe,” Zucker said, “we ought to do a series of specials on
firehouses where we just ride along with our cameras. Like the show Cops,
only with firefighters.”… [H]e could make room in the
prime-time lineup for firefighters, but then smiled at me and said, in
effect, that he had no time for any subtitled interviews with jihadists
raging about Palestine. [Weiss’s emphasis]

Then last month at a forum at the Nixon Center, former Bushie Dov Zackheim said, Jews don’t dominate the policy-making process, but the media is a different story…

I don’t know that anyone has visited the simple question raised by these statements: Do Jews dominate the media? This is something I know about personally. I’ve worked in print journalism for more than 30 years. I’ve worked for many magazines and newspapers, and for a time my whole social circle was editors and writers in New York. I don’t know television. I don’t know Washington journalism well. I don’t know the west coast. My sample is surely skewed by the fact that I’m Jewish and have always felt great comfort with other Jews. But in my experience, Jews have made up the majority of the important positions in the publications I worked for, a majority of the writers I’ve known at these place, and the majority of the owners who have paid me. Yes my own sample may be skewed, but I think it shows that Jews make up a significant proportion of power positions in media, half, if not more.

Before considering what this means, let me make my experience concrete:

My serious journalism began at the Harvard Crimson in the 70s. A friend said the paper was a Jewish boys club; it was dominated by middle class Jews– as apparently today there are a lot of Asians. Many of these Jews are now powerful presences in the media. Zucker is one of them. My first paying job was in Minneapolis. Five Harvard guys started a weekly; four of them were Jewish, including the publisher paying our meager salaries. I remember our editor walking the halls parodying the jingle we had on the radio. The jingle went: “We’ve got the news, we’ve got the sports…” He sang it as “We’ve got the Jews, we’ve got the sports.” Funny.

I was hired by a Jewish editor at my next job, the Philadelphia Daily News in 1978, and when I started freelancing in 1981, Jewish Harvard friends got me work at the Columbia Journalism Review and the Washington Monthly. A gentile brought me in at Harper’s and the New Republic. It was at the New Republic, a launching pad for any number of highly-successful journalists, that I briefly associated with Marty Peretz, and did a story for him mocking the United Nations, whose judgment he seeks at every turn to nullify because the U.N. is critical of Israel.

Fast forward. In New York, I have worked for a dozen magazines. Most of my editors have been Jewish. Both my book publishers were Jewish. At one point at one publishing house, the editor, his boss, and her boss were all Jewish, and so was the lawyer vetting the work—I remember her saying she would never travel to Malaysia because of the anti-Semitic Prime minister. Oh–and the assistant editor was half-Jewish.

I should point out that I have worked with many gentile editors and writers, and I have never been aware of any employment discrimination against them (though I may not be the best source). In fact, at Spy, the three top editors were all non-Jews and when I used the epithet WASP it was removed from my copy. But that is the exception. Generally it’s been Jews Jews Jews. When I hear NPR do a piece with its top political team and both are Jews…

when a Jewish friend calls me and gossips about lunches with two top news execs at major publications who are both Jewish and who I’ve known for 20 years… when a Jewish editor friend tells me that Si Newhouse would be disturbed if Vanity Fair editor Graydon Carter– who has done such courageous work against the Iraq war– did anything to expose the Israel lobby… and when I say that my income has been derived overwhelmingly from Jewish-owned publications for years—this is simply the ordinary culture of the magazine business as I know it.

I have some ideas why Jews have predominated, but that’s not the purpose of this posting. Last year Senator Russ Feingold, buttonholed on CSPAN about why so many speakers on air were Jewish, said, “Well, we’re good at talking…” That’ll do for now.

The real issue is, Does it matter? Most of my life I felt it didn’t. It’s just the way it is, at this point in history. It will change (as Clyde Haberman pointed out at that Yivo event). Jews are the latest flavor of the establishment. In his landmark book, The Jewish Century, Slezkine reports that Jews were the majority of journalists in Berlin and Vienna and Prague, too, in the late 1800s, if I remember correctly.

Now I think it does matter, for two reasons. Elitist establishment culture, and Israel. As to elitism, I worry when any affluent group has power and little sense of what the common man is experiencing. I feel the same discomfort with my prestige-oriented “caste” that E. Digby Baltzell did with his calcified caste, the WASPs–when he called for an end to discrimination against Jews in the early ’60s. The values of my cohort sometimes seem narrow: globalism, prosperity, professionalism. In Israel the values are a lot broader. None of my cohort has served in the military, myself included. A lot of our fathers did; but I bet none
of our kids do. Military service is for losers–or for Israelis.

So we are way overrepresented in the chattering classes, and way underrepresented in the battering
classes. Not a great recipe for leadership, especially in wartime.

Then there’s Israel. Support for Israel is an element of Jewish religious practice and more important, part of the Jewish cultural experience. Even if you’re a secular Jewish professional who prides himself on his objectivity, there is a ton of cultural pressure on you to support Israel or at least not to betray Israel. We are talking about a religion, after all, and the pressures faced by Jews who are critical of Israel are not that different from what Muslim women who want greater freedom undergo psychically or by evangelical Christians who want to support gay rights. It is worth noting that great Jewish hereticson the Israel question suffer anger or even ostracism inside their own families. Henry Siegman talked about this on Charlie Rose once, I recall–that even close family were not speaking to him over Israel. And I have seen this for myself on numerous occasions. There is not a lot of bandwidth on this issue. Conversations about Israel even inside the liberal Jewish community are emotionally loaded, and result in people not speaking to one another. I lost this blog at a mainstream publication because the editor was Jewish and conservative on Israel and so was the new owner, and the publisher had worked for AIPAC. And all of them would likely call themselves liberal Democrats.

As former CNN correspondent Linda Scherzer has said, “We, as Jews, must understand that we come with a certain bias…We believe in the Israeli narrative of history. We support the values that we as Americans, Westerners, and Jews espouse. Thus, we see news reporting through our own prism.”

There are many American Jewish journalists who have done great independent work re Israel/Palestine. Richard Ben Cramer and the late Robbie Friedman leap to mind. But both these guys are exceptional, and had to overcome/ignore a ton of pressure that most of us would quail under. They had to step outside the Jewish family to do their work…

The result is that Americans are not getting the full story re Israel/Palestine. Slater says this dramatically in his paper–that the Times has deprived American leadership of reporting on the moral/political crisis that Israel is undergoing, one that Haaretz has covered unstintingly. At Columbia the other night, Jew, Arab and gentile on a panel about the human-rights crisis in Gaza all said that Americans are not getting the full story. Ilan Pappe has marveled in his book The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine, that the Nakba is all but unmentioned in the U.S.–while Haaretz has sought at times to document it, for instance a former officer saying in 2004 that if he had not helped to destroy 200 villages in southern Israel in ’48, there would be another million Palestinians in Israel. To repeat Scherzer’s admission: “We believe in the Israeli narrative of history…”

Why does the American press behave differently from the Israeli press? I think the answer is guilt. The Jewish cohort of which I am a part has largely accepted the duty that Max Frankel felt, of supporting Israel. This duty is rarely interrogated, and yet consciously or not we all know that American public opinion/leadership is critical to Israel’s political invulnerability; and we think that if we take their fingers out of the dike, who knows what will happen. That is a ton of responsibility. This responsibility is not executed with special care.

Generally, my cohort hasn’t been to Israel, hasn’t seen the West Bank. But they do feel kinship with Israeli Jews, and–above all–have guilt feelings about the Holocaust, or the American Jewish silence about

it during the event, the Jewish passivity; and they are determined not to be passive during Israel’s neverending existential crises. And thus they misunderstand Israel and fail to serve their readers.

  • Jewish Superiority, Jewish Elite is indeed his/their problem NOT anyone else’s, but when I feel disturbed by it, and when I look at it objectionably and in disbelief, does that make me a racist??
  • The same Philip Weiss , the progressive, who is struggling with his problem of “Jewish superiority and Jewish elite” described what it means to be Jewish to him using the very disturbing words:

  • Philip Weiss, the progressive, also admitted that his anti-zionist stance is “concerned with a Jewish self-interest”. Then he elaborated: “A theory of political life based on altruism or concern for victims purely is doomed to fail.”
  • Philip Weiss, the progressive, who claims that “Islam has all kinds of problems, with free speech, patriarchalism, and the tolerance of violence“, sees it perfectly OK to ban a Palestinian Muslim from commenting on his “progressive” website, it appears that as far as Mr. Philip Weiss’s concerned, I am not a member of his “elite tribe”, and my voice does not particularly serve his “Jewish self-interest”, therefore, censoring my comments and muffling my voice is not much of a worry to him.

Heck, I am only a Palestinian, you know, one of those who “don’t exist” and whose homeland “never existed”, and the principle of freedom of speech does not apply to them.

How ironic to read this call for “give us your money” kind of thing on Philip’s website: “Help Mondoweiss Break the Media Blockade” while at the same time he actively participates in blocking an authentic Palestinian voice.

This is the email that was sent to Philip after he censored my comments, he did NOT have the politeness to even acknowledge the email with a response:

Quote: Dear PhilipI would like to ask a direct question: are you censoring a Palestinian voice? or is it just a routine slow moderating methods?I have posted these comments on your website, but apparently, whomever is moderating the site chose to mute a Palestinian voice.

I find this rather shocking, specially when your site presents itself as a “progressive”, which deals with the “war of ideas in the ME”.

to be frank and honest, I am sick and tired of people who pretend to be supporters, pretending to speak for the sake of, and on behalf of Palestinians, yet at the same time muting our faint voices even in the comment section!

Philip Weiss did not even have the curtesy to acknowledge or respond to my email.

Those who have experienced working in the media or in the solidarity movements know only too well the amount of pressure exerted upon them and anyone who tries to get some information out about what is happening in occupied Palestine, the history of Palestine, or the narrative as experienced by Palestinians.

The level of gagging is all too immense, all to intense, all too widespread, all too familiar to be passed unnoticed; cancellation of events, termination of academic course, stopping artistic plays and children dance and exhibitions… the list is endless.

Zionists exert incalculable pressure to suppress the dissemination of information, to confuse and silence truth and to control public opinion in order to dissuade people away from making the right informed choice. Zionists who indulge in this kind of suppression which became their very own trademark, have simultaneously and deceitfully continued to accuse of Muslims of exactly that which they are doing, i.e being “enemies of free speech” and “haters of freedom”. Accusing others of their own crimes, as we have seen repeatedly, is their modus operandi

Having said that, one can still find solace in the fact that those who practice such methods of suppression are doing so in line with their doctrine, philosophy and practice, in fact suppressing and concealing information by Zionists neither contradicts their racist belief system, nor their colonial mindset, as ugly as it might be, it is to be expected from oppressors and occupiers.

What comes as a shock and utter blow is to see such behaviour coming from liberals, progressives and activists who hold the banner of freedom, equality and justice and who work tirelessly to achieve those principles.

It is inconceivable to imagine that amidst those who have endless sleepless nights working to ensure that humanity would one day reach a level of ethical evolution that treats every single human being with justice and equality, that amidst those who work to ensure that all people are held by the same standard and equity before the law, that amidst those who embrace mankind with love and compassion they all deserve, it is inconceivable to see some amidst them resorting to similar methods of suppression of information and discrimination between people!

During my work with the movement, I came to realize that within our folks there are some who have absolutely zero tolerance to any views that does not match theirs, and they are willing to go as far as it takes to smother and conceal that which they disapprove of or disagree with.

The first uncomfortable observation came when I learned of the categorization of people; such and such person is liberal and forward thinking, this organization is progressive, but that group is reactionary, and those people are backwards thinking.

Although in our day and age, critical thinking is viewed as an acceptable if not essential part of human progress, and although no dogma should be immune against healthy scrutiny, no philosophy should have total impunity or be elevated beyond the realm of genuine debate, yet you come to learn that there exist one untouchable ideology that is set up above and beyond any and all criticism.

You come to learn that for some:
No description can be attached to the word “Jewish” except of course in the context of praise, adoration and glorification. All people, all faiths and all races have the good and the bad amongst them, except of course those of the Jewish faith or Jewish background, who unlike the rest of humanity, can only emanate righteousness, nothing but holiness and pure goodness radiate out of them. All ideologies and all beliefs are subjects to scrutiny, examination and evaluation, except of course for the Jewish ideology, this is above any criticism. Should any ill creed or ill behaviour oozes out to the public sphere, it has to immediately be glued to the word “Zionism”, the true villain, which has absolutely nothing to do with Jewish ideology or the Judaic faith. In fact it is an unforgivable sin to use the word “Jewish” associated with anything negative, the word has to be snapped away as a matter of urgency and replaced with “Zionism”, otherwise one would qualify as an staunch anti–Semite.

Have you ever heard of academic studies about the relationship between Jewish ideology and Zionism, except that which are designed to tear to pieces and sever any links between the two, and present them as worlds-apart mortal enemies and polarized opposites which have absolutely nothing in common?

To say “excuse me but…” immediately throws you in the abyss, makes you a loathed outcast, a vile anti-Semite, excommunicated by the gurus of thought control and perhaps stalked for the rest of your life.

As for revising history and re-examining documented chronological events, though to their credit, activists rejoice in digging out facts and celebrate the updating and the new reading of the Nakba, but the logic of some of them flips upside-down, their brain shuts off, their grey-matter turns into mush and their common sense turn into ice cubes, as they fail to apply the same principles when it comes to revising an almost simultaneous chapter of history, namely the Holocaust. To them the holocaust is no longer an historical event to be studied and scholarly examined like any other event or narrative. The perception of the Holocaust is no longer ruled by rationality nor is it subject to what other historical event are subject to, rather it is an untouchable sacred ideology to be revered, an unquestionable dogma to be hailed, made holy and glorified.

Isn’t there in the more recent events of 9/11, a living history in the making which we are still choking with its bitter fruit now, isn’t there a good example of how things can be written or miss-written?

Those who dare to mumble “excuse me but…” not only they are persecuted, heavily fined and imprisoned by the establishment, but also vilified by some liberals, defenders of freedom, seekers of truth and agents for justice. The unfortunate souls who naively happen to ask the most innocent question would be struck out from the flock of humanity into the space of loneliness and darkness designated for ghosts, creeps and vampires, accused of the worst crime ever known to man, and stamped with the red bold label, “holocaust deniers”, as the lowest of the low of mankind.

Now, please, hold your horses and don’t pull out that gluey outdated card; defending the right of people to freely conduct historical or scientific research without fear of persecution and excommunication, defending the right of affected people to independently investigate crimes, and defending the right of people to have access to information and the right of people to make informed choices and decisions, defending all this is a basic human right.

No one is entitled to smear or stick their label on intellectuals and researchers who call for the freedom of speech, the freedom to access information and liberation of intellect, as long as it is done in a non-insulting, honest and academic manner.

Sticking labels, smearing and branding people as a method to gain audience, make a point or win an argument, resembles only the Zionists methods and their fascist techniques. Such methods belong outside any peace and justice movement.

The inability or unwillingness to face the moral and intellectual challenges, which are presented and supported with massive wealth of information and documented evidence, reflects only logical impotence, ethical paralysis and academic incompetence.

The term White Supremacism defines the likes of KKK, of racists, neo-nazis etc, and projects a notion of wickedness and evil .

Wherever suitable, the term is used freely and without hesitation, generally by the Left, including the anti-Zionist Jewish Left. No one thinks twice before accurately using the term to portray anyone who claims that so called “White” people are superior to “people of colour”.

In some instances, the term is used in association with those who express concerns that the cultural identity of their society might be threatened by immigration. In other instances, the term “White supremacist” is used against historians and researchers who raise uncomfortable questions about official historical narratives enforced by the establishment.

The Ku Klux Klan has been described as a Christian, as well as a white, supremacist group. So are many white supremacist groups in the United States today.George W. Bush’s support for fundamentalist Christianity has been linked to his having a “Christian supremacist vision” in his policies in the Middle East.

The racist delusion of “White supremacy”, is a reality involving generally unsavory individuals, overall a small fringe groups of white people. The term does NOT imply that all, or that most whites are supremacists.

The use of the term “White supremacists” in relation with precisely such people, is perfectly legitimate and legal, anyone can utter it when suitable without having to fear censorship, slander or smear. It seems pretty elementary that whomever uses the term to define people holding such “white supremacist” opinions, does by no means imply to be anti-whites or white-hater.

Under no circumstances would be Non-white people forbidden to criticise or discuss the problem of White-supremacism.

I never came across of a non-racist white person who would claim that the issue of “white-supremacy” is a “White-Only” issue, implying that only white people have the right to discuss, to examine or to expose “White-Supremacists”. In fact the contrary is true, all non-racists are always encouraged to publicly discuss, oppose, and demonstrate against “White Supremacy”, even within the main stream media.

The parallel between “White-Supremacy” and “Jewish Supremacy” is inevitable, both holding the same antiquated tenet of superiority of one ethnic and/or religious group over another, irrespective of the moral depravity of these claims and that science having debunked such racist proclamations as being pure bogus nonsense.

However, comparing the two reveals something that should be evident to anyone interested in humanity, society, progress, ethics, news, politics and affairs of state.

The contrast between the two could not be greater.

Indeed, proportionally to their respective demography, “White supremacy” is an extremely fringe phenomenon, generally relegated to some remote muddy training camps in rural America, where alcoholism is more awash than any form of political influence. The KKKs and otherwise White Supremacists are shunned and loathed publicly, and are at the outer margin layer of society. They are in fact so rare, that they are almost museum ripe.

“Jewish Supremacy” however, exists on a much wider and deadlier scale. Firstly “Jewish supremacism” in its different shades, covering a whole spectrum of intensity and visibility, represents a huge segment of the Jewish demography. Secondly, these “Jewish supremacists” have irrefutably a considerable political influence, and arguably they shape governmental policies.

Yet, the Anti-Defamation League condemns as “antisemitic” any writings about “Jewish Supremacism” and labels any person who utters the words as “anti-Semite”.

They even crown as “anti-Semite” whomever dares to demand the truth and asks for an independent investigation to uncover the real story of 9/11.

When someone uses the term “Jewish Supremacy” referring ONLY to SOME Jewish groups and individuals who are extremely racist against non-Jews, the truth-tellers are accused of anti-Semitism. Perplexedly, the accusations come even from the non-racist liberal Jews, who then insist to pretend that the truth-teller is attacking ALL Jews.

Free-thinking, Non-Jews are gagged; they are forbidden to criticise and to discuss the ominous social threat “Jewish supremacism” represents. The pretext invoked for this blackout is that this issue is an internal Jewish problem, and outsiders should not interfere with such private internal Jewish matters!

Well, as one who endears such values as Free-Thinking, Democracy, Science, Equality, and the Right to Freedom of Expression, excuse my rage and pardon my language, but I have to say: HELL NO !

I and all of us non-Jews have every right in the world to write about, to expose and to challenge any supremacism, but especially Jewish supremacism as it thrives amongst some Jewish people and some very influential Jewish groups.

Legally and morally, I have every right to do so because I am personally affected by it,

My own life is negatively affected by it,

My family and my people are negatively affected by it,

And the whole Arab and Muslim world is tragically affected by it.

Hundreds of millions of humans are tragically affected by the wars and hatred fomented by Jewish supremacists in this gradually more violent twenty fist century.

When our very existence is threatened and when the sanctity of life itself is rescinded because we are seen by some Jewish people as Goyims, “creatures” of lesser value compared to Jewish lives, I have every right to scream my head off to expose this sociopathic… “Jewish supremacists”.

When our land and property are stolen from us at gun point by Jewish people who claim entitlement to others’ property because they say God favours them and gave it to them, I have every right to pound the words … “Jewish supremacists”.

When we are treated like animals by those who according to their Talmudic- kabbalistic books see us as two-legged animals created only to serve the Jews, I have every right to shout out loud… “Jewish supremacists”.

When our children are hunted down like fish in a barrel, because our children only have “animal souls”, unlike Jewish children who were given “divine souls”, I have every right to cry… “Jewish supremacists”.

Moses Ben Maimon (Maimonides) talks about the right of the Jewish king to “ wage a milchemet hareshut, (war of aggression) i.e. a war fought with other nations in order to expand the borders of Israelor magnify its greatness and reputation“.

He also sees no problem with subjugating and enslaving gentiles

They shall be your subjects and serve you

The subjugation they must accept consists of being on a lower level, scorned and humble. They must never raise their heads against Israel, but must remain subjugated under their rule. They may never be appointed over a Jew in any matter whatsoever

Nor does this “chief authoritative codifications of Jewish law and ethics” see any ethical predicament with “Jewish wars” of extermination and annihilation.

When I first came across the ugly ideology that festers amongst the Jewish supremacists group Chabad Lubavitch, I assumed that it was only a worm in the can.

I came to discover racism and supremacy with unparalleled proportions which not only thrives amongst the very vibrant, powerful and extremely influential Jewish group Chabad Lubavitch, but also extends within some mainstream Jewish philosophy, literature and sacred books.

To my horror and dismay I discovered that such condescending ideology has its roots in the “sacred” books of Talmud, Halacha and Tanya, all of which explicitly divides people into two categories: Jews (refined ethical humans with divine souls) and non-Jews (corrupt sub-humans with animal souls). “Jewish supremacy” exists and it is not mere “Zionist supremacy”, it is much older, more fanatical, more sinister and more dangerous than Zionism, it goes further and deeper than Jewish nationalism or Jewish imperialism. It has its roots deep in the very ideology, laws and practice by many Hasidim who interpret the word “Chosen” to mean far more than message-carriers with their living-example, and instead understand it to mean: Jewish people (materialized by “Israel”) have the divine right to lead and dominate. Should it be called Political Judaism, the deluge of corroborating evidence would be overwhelming.

In the face of these disturbing facts and distressing reality concerned and progressive Jewish friends should ask themselves some very painful and daring questions: could it possibly be that after all, the whole world might not be so twisted, so irrational, so insane, so full of nonsensical “intrinsic” hatred, and what appears to be waves of inexplicable eruptions of “anti-Semitism” might have something to do with such blatant anti-non-Jewish racism? Might these eruptions have some comprehensible and rational explanations that are linked to Talmudic supremacy and its condescending view of the other, non-Jew? Could it perhaps be that these erratic but recurrent eruption were/ are reactions to what people perceive as anti-Gentile racism; the patronizing and exploitation of that which is of “lesser value”, the “other”, the “Goy”?

Rather than continuing to deny or obscure the facts by labelling those who expose the facts as anti-Semites, sincere Jews should stop blaming the victims for uncovering these facts, and take a more honest and courageous look within their books and their community, shedding off the state of denial, facing the truth and exposing the horror that, very unfortunately, has found fertile-ground amongst their people.

No, to discuss and to argue openly and honestly against this sociopathic villainy that is Jewish supremacism, does not equate by any shape or manner to uttering one of these primitive blanket accusation that “Jews are evil by nature” or “all Jews believe such insanity”, or other such nonsense, far from it. What it really is, is unequivocal condemnation of a racist and supremacist ideology that has deceived SOME Jewish people and set them apart from the rest of humanity. An ideology that had caused them and continues to cause them to be willingly segregated and ghettoized, being as it may physically, emotionally, mentally or even spiritually.

To discuss and to argue honestly and openly about this abominable ideology, is in many ways a statement of trust and hope, that the doors of change and transformation are always open, amending and overcoming burdens of racist philosophies are always possible, and that can be through the extirpation of that archaic monster that has invaded them and deceived them. In fact, to put this subject on the table is a firm statement against racism, hence against anti-Semitism! I hope that Jewish people, at least those amidst them who are not yet polluted by this nefarious supremacist nonsense, will be able ultimately to reconcile themselves with the message of the Prophets, and the message of Humanism, and thus join mankind again, coming back from their exclusionary tribalism.

Unfortunately, overcome by emotions, many liberal Jews perceive this exposure of such ideological predicaments and the genuine desire to address in order to get rid of and overcome, they see it as personal attack on them and on Jewish people as a whole. This entangled emotions forms a blind spot which makes it hard for them to see that which is ugly, and consequently creating intellectual blockage; they react by closing up their thinking faculty, stiffening their minds, taking a strange position of denial and defensiveness that resembles only the reaction of Zionists when confronted with their crimes.

Undoubtedly, obscuring the problem and deflecting people away from it does not make it go away. To the contrary.

With all my heart, I do acknowledge the shock and empathize with the heartrending agonizing pain that comes with such blunt revelation and unfamiliar frankness. I also do understand the psychological limitations that may alter and fog the perception of reality when the reality is too painful to face, however, I long to see my good Jewish friends having the moral courage to look eye to eye through the blind-spot of their fears and apprehensions. I long to see them face up to and address the alarming and damaging problem that lurks beneath the surface, away from their anti-racist radar.

My writings are intended as wake up calls to open the eyes of those concerned to the utterly devastating reality which if not dealt within time, would only cause catastrophic ramification upon all Jewish people. Not because I say so, but because this is the nature of human-societies, human psychology and human behaviour.

NO ONE likes to be viewed as inferior or treated as a lesser-being. period.

And if they are, sooner or later they will revolt and flip the tables. I cannot bear to think of that scenario. it is frightening.

Furthermore, as a person who cares with all her heart for every human no matter their ethnicity, or wealth, or religion, I am very worried about the quasi-certainty that racially (and religiously) motivated mass-murder of unprecedented scale, will be the consequence of the current hatred fomented by Jewish supremacists against people who happen to be Muslims.

Ultimately no one will be able to control such mass movements of bloodthirsty hatred, and foremost what is called “blow-back” might well, as it has happened in the past, hit people who happen to be Jewish, on an equally massive scale. It is our duty, whatever our ethnic, cultural, social, religious or national background, to act with great determination against the sectarian drift that Jewish supremacists have been taking, splitting apart general human and social cohesion, and excluding themselves away from, setting themselves apart and above Humanity to bring upon some sinister and archaic, domination, or the illusion thereof.

It appears to me that authentic Judaism, as taught by the prophets has been long hijacked, hardly anything is left of its original teachings. What we have now is an infestation of extreme ideology propagated by some wicked, cruel, violent, arrogant, regressive self-worshiping supremacists. The world is slowly, very modestly still, discovering this reality, and maybe we will all suffer the consequences of the delay and denial, before this battered world takes an honourable stance against it.

That day is no doubt coming, and coming soon insha’Allah

With all love and affection to my brothers and sisters in humanity, with all the tenderness and care for the welfare of all human beings and life as whole, and with all the honesty and sincerity in my heart, I am writing to inform and to point out DANGER. I foresee many warning signs, and my hope is that Jewish people of good will would not shy away anymore, and would take notice of this inherently catastrophic problem (to both Jewish and non-Jewish alike), discuss it, address it, and try to find ways to combat it and deal with it.

To get rid of anti-Semitism once and for all, all what is needed is that Jewish people of good will to pull their sleeves up and to start digging, knocking down false gods, weeding supremacist ideologies that has found a haven amongst some of their people. If they insist to speak in the name of their “Jewish values” they need to reclaim the prophetic and authentic Judaism and “Jewish values” back from the Talmudists who had disfigured it and turned it into an ugly destructive killing machine.

They also need to come to the realization also that they can’t have it both way: insisting on attributing the words “Jew”/ “Jewish” to describe someone/ something good, yet getting infuriated when the words are affiliated with someone/ something bad.

In other words, those interested in “saving” the Jewish people, should start their rescue operation by waging a campaign for the “spiritual rescue” of Judaism and its followers. By acknowledging the spiritual downfall, identifying where did it all go wrong, then “spiritual rescue” might be followed by physical rescue once and for all, thus, overcoming the age-long gentile-phobia, the persecution complex, and the distinction mania.

A meaningful and lasting change requires an individual courageous inner journey to be undertaken by everyone who desires real rescue, an inner Jihad if you will.

As for the entity called “Israel”, all observers notice that the tide has changed; the “fortune” that accompanied this Frankenstein is fading by the minute. The reasons as to why this entity is beginning to lose its grip and WILL ultimately vanquish and arrive to total disintegration and decay in spite of all its weaponry, armies, wealth, arrogance, aggression and disregard of human rights and International Law, is as natural and organic as the principles of life itself.

“Israel” is an artificial creation, a myth that came into being through using other myths as pretexts;

“exclusivity” of an imagined “race”;

“distinction” of its imagined “mission”;

and “uniqueness” of its imagined perpetual “suffering”.

Such skewed perception of reality cannot survive the test of time, the inevitable will happen and sooner or later reality will hit them in the face.

Collectively, this entity with such grandiose image of itself, has become a force of destruction, it carries within its womb the seeds of its own demise.

In 2003, the theorist and historian “Israeli” military strategist, Martin van Creveld declared the following:

Recently, a very dear friend of mine was outraged to learn about 9/11 cover-up crimes, “Do you think anyone will ever be held to account for this obscenity?” she asked.

My response to her was:

“Many people of all background are pushing hard for this because the evidence of crime cover up is so overwhelming and the lies are so blatant that it feels like a slap on the face of every human being with a one brain cell.

The case against the perpetrators is so powerful and the evidence so overwhelming that if it were go to court right now, the case would be won IF, and only IF, there was still a functional Judicial System.

But my fear and expectation are a little grim unfortunately, I think it’s too late for that, my fear dearest is that even the judicial system has been hijacked by the same criminals who have an agenda of creating a Talmudic NWO through mass extermination and who would stop at nothing to implement it.

Daniel Ellsberg is a man who has the credentials and track record to be trusted. He made public the “Pentagon Papers” which basically toppled a US presidency and shook the US at its foundations. In 2007 he wrote an astounding sentence in the foreword to Norman Solomon’s book “Made Love, Got War”:

By now, I guess it is quite obvious who took over the Defense and Security Departments, as well as Foreign Policy.

2. The right to the protection of family.

3. The right to the protection of education.

With the establishment of communities with people of Islamic faith, political entities were formed, and like everywhere else in the world, a body of Civil Laws was set, with regional and local differences. These laws are derived from the predominant moral principles carried and defined in different locations and places where Muslims live. While fleshed with human understanding and interpretation, the backbone of these Laws are sourced in major Islamic books and references, in the Qur’an, in the documented saying of Muhammed known as Hadith, and then the works of Muslim scholars past and present to allow adaptation and evolution. In essence, it the same influence of initial religious moral principles found in any legal codex anywhere in the world.

No, Shari’a is NOT carved on stone or set in cement. No, Shari’a by its own definition can NOT be enforced on anyone nor can following its principles be enforced on any one, let alone on non-Muslims. Just like choosing to follow Islam can only be acknowledged and recognised when done under absolute free-will, so is following the Islamic moral principles i.e. Shari’a.

Even kindergarten children know that the Qura’nic principle “No compulsion in religion” (Qur’an 2:256) can not be compromised under any circumstances, because this principle of “no compulsion in religion” is fundamental to the whole Islamic philosophy.

Furthermore, it’s vitally important to study Halacha carefully because of the fact that the proposed Laws for the Gentiles i.e the “Seven Laws of Noah” are already being integrated in the laws of many countries, including USA, Japan and many others with the full blessing of the highest legislative bodies of these countries:

We may not appoint a woman as king. When describing the monarchy, the Torah employs the male form of the word king and not the female.

This principle also applies to all other positions of authority within Israel. Only men should be appointed to fill them.

Halacha 6

Neither a butcher, barber, bath-attendant, nor a tanner should be appointed king or High-Priest. This is not because of an inherent fault, but because their professions are less prestigious, and the people will always treat them lightly.

A person who has served in one of these professions for even one day, is disqualified for the monarchy.


‘He (the king) should not amass many wives’ Deuteronomy 17:17. The Oral Tradition states that he may take no more than eighteen wives.

Anyone who rebels against a king of Israel may be executed by the king.

Even if the king orders one of the people to go to a particular place and the latter refuses, or he orders him not to leave his house and he goes out, the offender is liable to be put to death. The king may execute him if he desires, as Joshua 1:18 states: ‘Whoever rebels against your command … shall be put to death.”

Similarly, anyone who embarrasses or shames the king may be executed by the king as was Shim’i ben Gera.

The king may only execute people by decapitation. He may also imprison offenders and have them beaten with rods to protect his honor. However, he may not confiscate property. If he does, it is considered theft.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 3, Halacha 10

He (the king) may execute many on one day, hang them, and leave them hanging for many days in order to cast fear into the hearts and destroy the power of the wicked of the earth.


The property of all those executed by the king, belongs to the king. Similarly, all the treasures belonging to the kings of the kingdoms which he conquers become the property of the king.


A king should not wage other wars before a milchemet mitzvah. What is considered as milchemet mitzvah? The war against the seven nations who occupied Eretz Yisrael, the war against Amalek, and a war fought to assist Israel from an enemy which attacks them.

Afterwards, he may wage a milchemet hareshut, (war of aggression) i.e. a war fought with other nations in order to expand the borders of Israel or magnify its greatness and reputation.

The king may burst through the fences surrounding fields or vineyards to make a road and no one can take issue with him.

There is no limit to the road the king may make. Rather, it may be as wide as necessary. He need not make his road crooked because of an individual’s vineyard or field. Rather, he may proceed on a straight path and carry out his war.

It is a positive commandment to annihilate the seven nations who dwelled in Eretz Yisrael as Deuteronomy 20:17 states: ‘You shall utterly destroy them.’

Anyone who chances upon one of them and does not kill him violates a negative commandment as ibid.:16 states: ‘Do not allow a soul to live.’ The memory of them has already been obliterated.

Similarly, it is a positive commandment to destroy the memory of Amalek, as Deuteronomy 25:19 states: ‘Obliterate the memory of Amalek.

It is also a positive commandment to constantly remember their evil deeds and their ambush of Israel to arouse our hatred of them, as ibid.:17 states: ‘Remember what Amalek did to you.’ The Oral Tradition teaches: …Remember’ – with your mouths; …Do not forget’ – in your hearts.’ For it is forbidden to forget our hatred and enmity for them.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 5, Halacha 6

All the lands which Israel conquers in wars led by a king and approved by the court are considered as conquered by the people at large. Thus, they have the same status as Eretz Yisrael which was conquered by Joshua in every regard. This only applies if they were conquered after the conquest of Eretz Yisrael as described in the Torah.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 5, Halacha 9

It is forbidden to leave Eretz Yisrael for the Diaspora at all times except:

to study Torah;

to marry; or

to save one’s property from the gentiles.

If the enemy accepts the offer of peace and commits itself to the fulfillment of the seven mitzvot that were commanded to Noah’s descendents, none of them should be killed. Rather, they should be subjugatedas ibid.:11 states: ‘They shall be your subjects and serve you.’

If they agree to tribute, but do not accept subjugation or if they accept subjugation, but do not agree to tribute, their offer should not be heeded. They must accept both.

The subjugation they must accept consists of being on a lower level, scorned and humble. They must never raise their heads against Israel, but must remain subjugated under their rule. They may never be appointed over a Jew in any matter whatsoever.

The tribute they must accept consists of being prepared to support the king’s service with their money and with their persons; for example, the building of walls, strengthening the fortresses, building the king’s palace, and the like as I Kings 9:15-22) relates: “This is the tribute which Solomon raised to build the House of God, his own palace, the Milo, the wall of Jerusalem,… and all the store-cities which Solomon had… All the people that remained from the Amorites… upon them did Solomon lay a tribute of bondservice until this day.”

In contrast, Solomon did not make bondsmen out of the children of Israel. They were men of war, his personal servants, his princes, his captains, the officers of his chariots, and his horsemen.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 6, Halacha 4

If they do not agree to a peaceful settlement, or if they agree to a peaceful settlement, but refuse to accept the seven mitzvot, war should be waged against them.

All males past majority should be killed. Their money and their children should be taken as spoil, but neither women or children should be killed, as Deuteronomy 20:14 states: ‘But the women and the children… take as spoil.” ‘The children’ refer to males below the age of majority.

The above applies to a milchemet hareshut fought with other nations. However, if either the seven nations or Amalek refuse to accept a peaceful settlement, not one soul of them may be left alive as ibid. 20:15-16 states: ‘Do this to all the cities that … are not the cities of these nations. However, from the cities of these nations,… do not leave a soul alive.’ Similarly, in regard to Amalek, Deuteronomy 25:19 states: ‘Obliterate the memory of Amalek.’

When a siege is placed around a city to conquer it, it should not be surrounded on all four sides, only on three. A place should be left for the inhabitants to flee and for all those who desire, to escape with their lives, as it is written Numbers 31:7: ‘And they besieged Midian as God commanded Moses.’ According to tradition, He commanded them to array the siege as described.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 6, Halacha 11

We should lay siege to the gentiles‘ cities at least three days before the Sabbath. We may engage in battle with them every day, even on the Sabbath, as Deuteronomy 20:20 states: ‘against the city waging war with you until you subjugate it.’ Our Sages explain: this implies ‘even on the Sabbath.’ This applies to both a milchemet mitzvah and a milchemet hareshut.


Similarly, a soldier may engage in sexual relations with a woman while she is still a gentile if his natural inclination overcomes him. However, he may not engage in sexual relations with her and then, go on his way. Rather, he must bring her into his home as Deuteronomy 21:11 states ‘If you see a beautiful woman among the prisoners…You shall bring her into the midst of your home…’

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 8, Halacha 3

Relations with a yefat toar are only permitted while she is in captivity as the verse states ‘ If you see… among the prisoners.’

This license is permitted whether the woman is a virgin or not, even if she is married, for the gentiles’ marriages are not recognized.

A number of laws are derived from the exegesis of the verse from Deuteronomy quoted above:

‘And you desire’ – even though she is not beautiful.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 8, Halacha 10

By the same regard, Moses was commanded by the Almighty to compel all the inhabitants of the world to accept the commandments given to Noah’s descendants.

If one does not accept these commands, he should be executed. A person who formally accepts these commands is called a resident alien. This applies in any place. This acceptance must be made in the presence of three Torah scholars.


Mishneh Torah, Chapter 9, Halacha 2

A gentile who worships false gods is liable provided he worships them in an accepted manner.

A gentile is executed for every type of foreign worship which a Jewish court would consider worthy of capital punishment. However, a gentile is not executed for a type of foreign worship which a Jewish court would not deem worthy of capital punishment. Nevertheless, even though a gentile will not be executed for these forms of worship, he is forbidden to engage in all of them.

We should not allow them to erect a monument, or to plant an Asherah, or to make images and the like even though they are only for the sake of beauty

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 9, Halacha 3

A gentile who curses God’s Name, whether he uses God’s unique name or one of His other names, in any language, is liable. This law does not apply with regard to Jews.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 9, Halacha 4

A gentile who slays any soul, even a fetus in its mother’s womb, should be executed in retribution for its death. Similarly, if he slew a person who would have otherwise died in the near future, placed a person before a lion, or starved a person to death, he should be executed for through one manner or other, he killed.

Similarly, one should be executed if he killed a pursuer when he could have saved the latter’s potential victim by maiming one of the pursuer’s limbs. These laws do not apply with regard to Jews.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 9, Halacha 10

Similarly, a gentile who engages in relations with a Jewish maiden who has been consecrated is stoned to death because of her as is the law regarding Jews. If he engages in relations with her after she has undergone the wedding ceremony, but has not engaged in relations with her husband, he is strangled to death as is the Jewish law. However, if he engages in relations with a Jewish woman after she engaged in relations with her husband once, he is sentenced to be executed by decapitation as if he had engaged in relations with a gentile woman.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 9, Halacha 9

A gentile is liable for violating the prohibition against theft whether he stole from another gentile or from a Jew.

This applies to one who forcefully robs an individual or steals money, a kidnapper, an employer who withholds his worker’s wages and the like, even a worker who eats from his employer’s produce when he is not working. In all such cases, he is liable and is considered as a robber. With regard to Jews, the law is different.

Similarly, a gentile is liable for stealing an object worth less than a p’rutah. Thus, if one gentile stole an object worth less than a p’rutah and another gentile stole it from him, they are both executed because of it.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 9, Halacha 14

How must the gentiles fulfill the commandment to establish laws and courts? They are obligated to set up judges and magistrates in every major city to render judgement concerning these six mitzvot and to admonish the people regarding their observance.

A gentile who transgresses these seven commands shall be executed by decapitation. For this reason, all the inhabitants of Shechem were obligated to die. Shechem kidnapped. They observed and were aware of his deeds, but did not judge him.

A gentile is executed on the basis of the testimony of one witness and the verdict of a single judge. No warning is required. Relatives may serve as witnesses. However, a woman may not serve as a witness or a judge for them.


Mishneh Torah, Chapter 10, Halacha 3

A gentile who converted, was circumcised, and immersed in the mikveh, and, afterwards, decided to forsake God and revert to his previous status as a resident alien is not granted permission to do so. Rather, he must remain as an Israelite in all matters or be executed.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 10, Halacha 5

It has already been explained that gentiles are always executed by decapitation except in cases when one engages in relations with the wife of a Jew or a consecrated maiden. In the latter instance, he is stoned to death.

If he engaged in relations with a Jew’s wife after they married, but before they ever engaged in relations, he is executed by strangulation.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 10, Halacha 6

A gentile who gave a Jew a blow is liable to die for causing even the most minimal damage. Nevertheless, he is not executed.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 10, Halacha 9

A gentile who studies the Torah is obligated to die. They should only be involved in the study of their seven mitzvot.

Similarly, a gentile who rests, even on a weekday, observing that day as a Sabbath, is obligated to die. Needless to say, he is obligated for that punishment if he creates a festival for himself.

The general principle governing these matters is: They are not to be allowed to originate a new religion or create mitzvot for themselves based on their own decisions. They may either become righteous converts and accept all the mitzvot or retain their statutes without adding or detracting from them.

If a gentile studies the Torah, makes a Sabbath, or creates a religious practice, a Jewish court should beat him, punish him, and inform him that he is obligated to die. However, he is not to be executed.

Mishneh Torah, Chapter 10, Halacha 11

The Jewish court is obligated to appoint judges for these resident aliens to judge them according to these statutes so that the world will not become decadent.

If the court sees fit to appoint the judges from the resident aliens themselves, they may. If it sees fit to appoint them from among the Jews, they may.

If there is a dispute between a Jew and an idolater: If the Jew will fare better according to their laws, they are judged according to their laws. When the judgement is rendered, the judges explain: ‘Your law obligates this judgement.’ If the Jew will fare better according to our laws, they are judged according to Torah law. When the judgement is rendered, the judges explain: ‘Our law obligates this judgement.’ It appears to me that this approach is not followed in regard to a resident alien. Rather, he is always judged according to their laws.


Mishneh Torah, Chapter 12, Halacha 1

Do not presume that in the Messianic age any facet of the world’s nature will change or there will be innovations in the work of creation. Rather, the world will continue according to its pattern.

Although Isaiah 11:6 states: ‘The wolf will dwell with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with the young goat,’ these words are a metaphor and a parable. The interpretation of the prophecy is as follows: Israel will dwell securely together with the wicked gentiles who are likened to a wolf and a leopard

In that era, there will be neither famine or war, envy or competition for good will flow in abundance and all the delights will be freely available as dust. The occupation of the entire world will be solely to know God.

To designate March 26, 1991, as `Education Day, U.S.A.’.

Whereas Congress recognizes the historical tradition of ethical values and principles which are the basis of civilized society and upon which our great Nation was founded;

Whereas these ethical values and principles have been the bedrock of society from the dawn of civilization, when they were known as the Seven Noahide Laws;

Whereas without these ethical values and principles the edifice of civilization stands in serious peril of returning to chaos;

Whereas society is profoundly concerned with the recent weakening of these principles that has resulted in crises that beleaguer and threaten the fabric of civilized society;

Whereas the justified preoccupation with these crises must not let the citizens of this Nation lose sight of their responsibility to transmit these historical ethical values from our distinguished past to the generations of the future;

Whereas the Lubavitch movement has fostered and promoted these ethical values and principles throughout the world;

Whereas Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, leader of the Lubavitch movement, is universally respected and revered and his eighty-ninth birthday falls on March 26, 1991;

Whereas in tribute to this great spiritual leader, `the rebbe’, this, his ninetieth year will be seen as one of `education and giving’, the year in which we turn to education and charity to return the world to the moral and ethical values contained in the Seven Noahide Laws; and

Whereas this will be reflected in an international scroll of honor signed by the President of the United States and other heads of state: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled, That March 26, 1991, the start of the ninetieth year of Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, leader of the worldwide Lubavitch movement, is designated as `Education Day, U.S.A.’. The President is requested to issue a proclamation calling upon the people of the United States to observe such day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

Today, let us rededicate ourselves to preparing our next generation of leaders for the world they will inherit.

For America to thrive in the 21st century, we need a workforce with the knowledge and skills to compete in the global economy. More than ever before, the success of every American will depend on their level of academic achievement. A world class education can unlock every child’s full potential, and that remains our best roadmap to prosperity.

However, our leadership in the world relies upon citizens who are not only well-educated, but also driven by their humanity and civic virtue. In the wake of this year’s devastating earthquakes in Haiti and Chile, Americans stepped forward to help, carrying on the unmatched tradition of generosity that defines our national character. By passing on this spirit of compassion to our children, we help ensure America remains a beacon of hope to people around the world.

The importance of education and kindness was promoted in the work of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, inspiring countless individuals to uphold these values in their own lives and communities. Each year, Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A., reminds us of his legacy and the principles to which he dedicated himself. As we strengthen our Nation’s ladders of opportunity, let us teach our children to lift up generations yet to come.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 26, 2010, as “Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A.” I call upon all Americans to observe this week with appropriate ceremonies and activities.

The future of our Nation depends on our ability to instill in future generations the values that will help them write the next proud chapter of the American story — a dedication to knowledge and a sense of compassion for their fellow citizens. As we celebrate Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A., we recommit to preparing our sons and daughters to thrive with principle and purpose in the 21st century.

Over the next decade, nearly half of all new jobs will require advanced training or a college degree. Ensuring our children meet this standard will take the collective commitment of parents, teachers, and communities coming together to instill a love of learning in our young people. By doing so, we can unlock every child’s potential and give them the chance to fulfill their dreams, while laying the foundation for our country’s continued prosperity.

Education alone, however, cannot fully prepare our children to stand at the helm of our Nation. In an increasingly interconnected world, America remains a beacon of hope for many across the globe because of our open hearts during times of extraordinary challenge and our dedication to our common humanity. We must nurture these traits in our children to ensure America continues to be a symbol of promise to the world.

On Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A., we celebrate the example set by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, who dedicated his life to improving education and fostering goodwill for all people. His legacy continues to inspire individuals to carry forward his effort to build a brighter future. Each year, Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A., reminds us of our obligation to create opportunities for a better tomorrow — life lessons we pass on to all our children.

A Proclamation

America’s future depends in part on ensuring that every child in America receives a quality education. And by teaching our children the importance of serving those in need, we will help fulfill an important part of their education, showing them the rewards that come from compassionate outreach.

Education has always played a vital role in the success of our Nation. It has provided hope through the principle that any citizen can realize the American dream, regardless of background, ethnicity, or faith.

By challenging young people to set high goals and to work hard to achieve them, we prepare our youth to carry on the success of the American story and to become leaders of this great Nation. A core foundation of knowledge and values is essential for students to excel and contribute to the well-being of our communities, our country, and the world.

Parents are a child’s first and most important teachers, and they provide the cornerstone of a child’s early education. Quality teachers, however, also play an important role in a child’s personal and intellectual development.

The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, which I signed into law in January 2002, requires that, by the end of the 2005-06 school year, there must be a “highly qualified” teacher in every classroom. Through this new law, States and school districts will have multiple tools to help them meet the new teacher quality requirements.

Key elements of this effort include providing State grants to recruit and train teachers, and recruiting high-quality individuals to become teachers, offering expanded student loan forgiveness for teachers. And we must encourage Americans to volunteer their time to serve as mentors to our young people.

Great teachers are also found outside the classroom, making a positive impact on children and on local families. For example, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, demonstrated the power of teaching others to pursue both intellectual and moral excellence.

For this purpose, he established education and outreach centers that offered social services and humanitarian aid. Today, more than 1,400 of these centers operate in 35 countries, meeting the spiritual and material needs of local communities.

These beacons of hope communicate the Rebbe’s ideal of living a meaningful life through personal responsibility and dedication to those in need.

On the 100th anniversary of the Rebbe’s birth, I encourage Americans to help teach our young people. In classrooms, homes, and places of worship, we can all make a lasting impact on individual children and thus invest in our country as a whole.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim March 24, 2002, as Education and Sharing Day, U.S.A., 2002.

I call on all Americans to help our young people better understand the importance of character and develop a true love of learning. By doing so, we invest in the future of our country.
