Bonded!

O tree, imposing and magnificent

Composed and dignified you stand

Getting hurt but never cause hurt

Do you know pain, as we do?

Do you shed tears when you cry?

* * *

Beneath your weepy branches

How many anguished souls have you seen?

Do you cringe and go to pieces

As lives perish before your eyes?

Does your heart split asunder

Watching lovers go insane

As they say their last goodbye?

* * *

How do you sway with rustling leaves,

Watching people go astray

And civilizations fade away?

How do you keep your cheeky smile,

Despite the horrors you have seen?

* * *

O tree, beautiful and free

Did a passer-by ever stop by

Whisper in your ears

“Soulmate, I love 💕 you”?

Monstrosity of Soul

Share

When I was a little girl I lived in a little village north west of Jerusalem called Beit Iksa, just on the opposite hills of the annihilated village of Deir Yassin.

Adults in my village used to talk in whispers about Jews, yet, never mention them directly in front of us children. If it ever happens that we heard something, they would stop talking and swiftly change the subject. We knew nothing about the attacks, horrors, massacres, ethnic cleansing  and terror inflected upon Palestinians in villages only a stone’s throw away, all around. Left to my own devices, and having a wild buoyant imagination, I used to think Jews are monsters, mythical beings, who exist only in children’s stories, they were not real, and most certainly not human beings.

When I met them, in 1967, after the invasion of my village, I was seven at the time, it was utterly shocking to see they were actually real, moreover, they were human beings who look exactly like us. It took me years to adjust to this new reality and come to terms with the fact that those who devastated our lives irreversibly, kicked us out of our homes and took over our homeland by sheer brutality, were actually humans.

Fast forward, forty years later, I stumbled upon a word “Neshomeh“; my world was flipped upside down, gates of Hell flung open before my eyes, I was pushed decades back in time.

I learned that “Neshomeh” means “Jewish soul” which is an “additional distinct divine” soul that every Jew posses, unlike us, non-Jews, who only posses “animal souls”. I became physically sick and wept for weeks to discover that such a profound ideological supremacy even exists. The devastation continued as I learned of their teaching which differentiates between Jews and non-Jews on levels of morality, spirituality and intellect, so much so that some believe the entire universe is created for their sake, and that the rest of mankind are created only to serve them.

Many years of study and scrutiny lead me to conclude that the supremacist ideology which sets them apart from the rest of humanity is the biggest stumbling block and the real obstacle to peace and coexistence. In retrospect, my childhood perception about the invaders who occupied my homeland being monsters was not far fetched. What I see now is indeed monstrous still, but it’s another form of hideousness, on a different level all together, it is a monstrosity of the soul.

What was even more devastating to discover was that even many of the so called “atheist” Jews, knowingly or not, are participating in that system of oppression by choosing to benefit from this arrangement, not only by keeping the privileges they acquired by ethnically cleansing of another people, but also by being active participants and willingly complicit in the concealment of this heinous ideology, and by forcefully attacking and slandering any “gentile” who comes to learn/talk about it.

Thus I am always puzzled at those good-intentioned yet deluded individuals who try to convince themselves and the rest of the world with the illusion of a “one state solution with equal rights for all”.

Keep aside the unspeakable injustice that such a solution presents against Palestinian, as it grants war criminals the consent and seal of approval of their victims to colonize their land forever. Forget the fact that equating the CRIMINAL with his VICTIM is adding insult to injury. Put aside the fact that imposing on the victim to be eternally entangled with his abuser which means intensifying and prolonging the suffering and horror of the crime. Forget all the above, the real tragedy is, those who are chasing the mirage of peace with ideological supremacist fail to realise that peace and equality with violent ideological supremacists whose ideology is heaving with commandments to “hate” and to “exterminate” the “evil” other, is an oxymoron, an impossibility by definition. Simply because supremacists perceive you and I as animals, a lower rank of creation, in levels of spirituality, morality and intellect, so whatever you do, in their eyes, you will never be anything but an animal created only to serve them or a commodity to be used, exploited and enslaved.

FB Jail for truth tellers

FB Jail for truth tellers

nahida.jpg

Once a day the Palestinian poet Nahida Izzat is being thrown into the FB Jail for 30 days for telling the truth about Palestine and the crime that has been committed against her people for almost a century.  Nahida has never promoted violence or written any type of hate speech. The routine is pretty exhausting.   She receives a FB notification about her suspension, she then appeals and after a few hours FB lifts her suspension.

The Palestinian poet is subject to a relentless vilification campaign by both Zionists and Anti Zionist Zionists (AZZ). Yesterday, Nahida was suspended again. This time her crime was  posting a clip of a Palestinian man who just lost his home to an Israeli bomb. Nahida provided an English translation of the Gazan victim.

Nahida’s post read:

Do you want to know how people in Gaza feel?

Here it is:

Even if they destroy all our homes
We are with the Resistance
Even if they kill every single one of us
We are with the Resistance
Even if they kill our children
We are with the Resistance

FB has now rejected Nahida’s appeal on the ridiculous ground that the above “goes against our community standards on hate speech.”

Apparently reporting on a war crime committed by Israel and providing a first hand account of the destruction and the anguish inflicted on Palestinian refugees is considered ‘hate speech’ according to the authoritarian social network.

Poetic Resistance

Thank you Gilad for your support

Nahida Izzat,  The Master of Poetic Resistance

nahidgil2.jpg

Nahida Izzat interviewed by Gilad Atzmon

The outspoken Palestinian poet Nahida Izzat has been an inspiration for a growing number of people. This fact has been a great concern for both Zionists and the so-called ‘anti.’ I have been witnessing the campaign against Nahida for over 10 years.  In recent days the desperate attempts to silence Nahida  have intensified. I spoke with Nahida about her life and her battle for truth. I urge you to listen to the spectacularly lucid voice of an heroic exiled poet.

Gilad Atzmon: Recently FB has both suspended you at least once a day  and then lifted your suspension a few hours later after reviewing your appeal. It seems that someone is desperate to silence you. What are your feelings about this, and why do you think it’s happening?

Nahida Izzat:  That is true, Gilad. In the past, my account was suspended and my posts/comments deleted. To have my account reinstated, FB asked me to provide documentation (A copy of 2 of these items: Passport, Birth Certificate,  Driver’s License, or Bank Account) to prove my identity and that my account is not a fake.

This time around, I have been subjected to harassment on an almost daily basis, receiving notice that a post of mine “goes against FB Community Standards” of “Hate Speech”. I have protested immediately each time and requested a review, a few hours later I receive an apology from FB for their mistake in suspending my account and they have lifted the ban.

Whoever is reporting me recently has been trying desperately to find an excuse to silence me for being one of the most outspoken Palestinian voices in the West, daring to step outside the red line and break the “boundaries” as defined to us by the self-appointed gatekeepers in the Palestinian support movement.

Some years ago, and like yourself, I experienced some real harassment and attempted censorship  by no other than the Jewish anti-Zionist ‘supporters’ in the movement, those to whom I had given my trust after working closely with them for many years. They did this to me because I dared delve into the ‘forbidden’ topics they deemed taboo, and I stepped out of the boundaries they set as they claimed that anything beyond their boundaries was not ‘permissible’ in the discourse of the Palestinian struggle. They used the same accusation they use now of “antisemitism” to stop me from writing and to stop my writing from being published online.

Some years ago, I identified some of the subjects they deem impermissible, including:

  • The doctrine of Jewish supremacy, (chosenness)  and its role in Palestine Struggle and the ramifications it has had on Palestinian lives and on their destruction;

  •     The global Jewish Zionist network which functions as the international blood line that has enabled the continuous survival of the Jewish state;

  •     The veneration of the holocaust as an article of faith rather than a chapter in history, and the implications of that for the Palestinian struggle for liberation; and

  •     The concealment of False Flag operations perpetrated by Mossad and the intentions and role of both the concealment and the operations themselves in the destruction of much of the Middle East.

All efforts to silence my roaring Palestinian voice have come to naught.  In fact, such efforts had the opposite effect. Instead of my having a voice that faintly echoes from a small city in the UK, their attempts to silence me have helped me raise the volume, so that my voice is propelled far and wide.

I see what is happening on FB now as deja vu, once again one or more people are out there desperately trying to smother an authentic, free and untamed Palestinian voice and to incarcerate an independent thinking mind by clutching a straw, building a castle on quicksand or throwing a handkerchief in people’s eyes to stop daylight from breaking through.

GA:  While in the early days it seemed as if it was Zionists and Israeli stooges who were interfering with our intellectual work, now it is established that Anti Zionist Jews are way more active on that front. What is your explanation?

NI: Zionist hawks are not interested in playing in a mind field, they prefer to play with bombs, bullets and minefields. Their interest is in totally eliminating their enemy.  By contrast, anti-Zionist ‘doves’ wave the banners of morality and universal values, it isn’t befitting to their moralist role to play with guns, so they focus on the mind field. But their arguments are feeble and cannot stand the heat of truth, the goals of their game evolve into working to spin and conceal truth for as long as possible, hoping that in their end game they can bury truth forever in the dungeon of “hate speech” locking it with the “antisemitism” and “holocaust denial” keys.

What these poor souls fail to see is that truth has an innate irrepressible light that can never be extinguished by their blows.

GA: What should be the role of anti Zionist Jews?

NI: If anti Zionist Jews are to be truthful with Palestinians, with our supporters and with themselves, all their energy, all their sincerity and all their might must turn inside out. They will have to turn over and look within. They should focus on diagnosing the root causes of the problem not, as they have insisted upon, merely describing the symptoms. Looking within is a huge undertaking, it requires a long and agonising journey within the self. I dare to suggest as a first step in this monumental task, that they approach it with honesty and sincerity not the avoidance and concealment we have seen.

The heart of the problem and the root cause of the Palestinian Nakba lies in the demon of ‘chosenness’, i.e ideological Jewish supremacy as manifested in their innumerable texts that separate Jews from ‘gentiles’ and puts them not merely miles apart, over and above the rest of mankind, but places them within a totally different paradigm, with different histories, terminology and perception of the world, themselves, and  the outside world. Without an end to this separation there can never be a true solution in which we achieve a workable, egalitarian, fair and humanistic world with universal values that apply to all.

In order for their self-chosen, self imposed separation to end, they must take a hard and honest look at the core issue, the elephant in the room, that which no one dares to name, ‘chosenness.’

They must examine why they feel the need to conceal this issue.

They need to discover why they ‘freak out’ and behave irrationally at the mention of this word.

They need to ask themselves the difficult questions:

Why do they feel entitled to control the terminology that defines what is good for mankind and why do they believe no one else can?

Why do they feel that their narrative is the one and only possible narrative?

Why do they believe that their own suffering supersedes that of others?

What is it that terrifies them when they feel they have no control in making the rules?

How do they demand that Palestinians be thoughtful of Jewish sensitivities, Jewish security and the Jewish future all while the Palestinians are being maimed, tortured and slaughtered?

Why do they expect Palestinians to consider the welfare, security and future well being of the Jewish ‘Israelis’ who are slaughtering them and bombing their society to smithereens?

What is it that makes them feel entitled to expect Palestinians to give up on their inalienable rights of liberation, land ownership and sovereignty for the sake of the same people  who have been robbing and destroying these rights for seven decades?

If they are able to manage a mile or two of honestly exploring these questions then they can move on to scrutinize and dissect the four boundaries that they have set for themselves and others that are listed above.

GA: Three days ago we were shocked to see an abusive and patronising post by the pro Palestinian Israeli activist Abigail Abarbanel.  She  has accused you of antisemitism and racism for publishing primary sources of Judaic texts. Abarbanel wrote of you that you “can be clumsy”, “bitterness has always been there in Nahida’s poetry, “she posted blatantly racist comments”, ” Nahida does not have good emotional regulation. She can be out of control and expresses incredibly racist views against Jews”,  “she seems unable to differentiate between her anger with the state of Israel/Zionism and what it has been doing to her people, and maligning the entire Jewish people for it”, she “expresses racist views against Jews in general, not just share specific examples of Jewish racism..” etc.  How does it feel when an Israeli who claims to be a supporter of your cause refers to you as ‘clumsy’ and ‘racist’?

aa.jpg

NI: Ok, how it feels!  Even though she has published some nasty stuff about me, I do not feel anger, hostility or hate toward her. I‘ve never met her personally, and on a human level I feel sorry for her, for her inability to empathise with others when her sensitivities are rubbed. I feel sorry for her inability to see beyond the bubble of tribalism she has chosen to dwell within. I feel sorry for her belief that she has mastered all there is to morality and humanity; when she goes out of her way to smear a fellow human being for the ‘sin’ of relying upon and quoting Jewish sources to provide evidence of ideological racism and supremacy and for asking her to challenge her own belief in  supremacy.

I feel sorry for her for thinking she has healed the wounds of childhood  abuse inflicted upon her by her family members and by her tribe even as they indulged in mass scale abuse of an entire people, although she is incapable of touching the infected core of the problem.

I am sorry to witness her fall as she swims out of her depth and lashes out at a concerned ‘outsider’ who has put a finger where it really hurts in the hope that if a correct diagnosis and attention to a cure is given, healing may occur.

On the collective humanist non-personal level, I experience deep pain from the ugliness of her betrayal of a people she claims to support. I grieve as a witness to her failure, watching as she faced a choice between blind loyalty to a tribe and the truth and made the wrong choice.

GA: Years ago both of us were portrayed as lone voices with marginal followings, nowadays things have turned around.  All over Europe people are expressing fatigue with Zionist power over Western politics, culture, media, etc. We are facing a shift in mass consciousness. Does this change translate into hope?

NI: Absolutely.

As a witness to so many changes in the short time over the past decade, and as an observer of the grave upheaval raging all around, destabilising major political systems, shifting and shoveling global powers, one cannot fail to see the meaning of “everything is in flux!” Change is a law of the universe.

And watching Zionists and anti-Zionists alike, of all shades, colours and persuasions stuck in an ever shrinking narrowing field in the battle of ideas, with no weapons in their hands other than ad hominem attacks and laughable accusations of ‘antisemitism’, I have no doubt that they are slowly but surely losing the battles of the mind and the soul.

As witness to all this, I feel resolve, confidence and resilience from within, filling me with all the hope, energy and fortitude needed to persist.  As a person of faith, a believer in the existence of a Supreme Intelligence with Most High Principles, Ultimate Justice and Sublime Love, I feel this energy invigorating me and giving me even more power and the determination to continue roaring with passion for the sake of truth, justice and humanity.

Major Qur’anic Principles

For further reading to my previous article, here you will find quotations from the Qur’an to highlight and fortify the foundations of Islamic principles related to “Islam, Media, Terror; a Muslim Perspective”

Major Qur’anic Principles:

(If not applied or manifested, if disrespected or abused, the blame is on the followers of Islam, not the authentic documented principles)

  • Justice is the heart of Qur’an

“O ye who believe! be steadfast firmly for God, as witnesses to fair dealing, Let not a group’s hostility to you cause you to deviate from justice. Be just, for it is closer to piety. Be God conscious; for God is Well Aware of what you do.” (Qur’an; 5:8 )

“O ye who believe! stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for God can best protect both. Follow not the lusts (of your hearts) lest ye swerve and if ye distort (justice) or decline to do justice, verily God is well-acquainted with all that ye do.” (Qur’an; 4:135)

“We thus made you an impartial community, that you may serve as witnesses among the people, and the messenger serves as a witness among you” (2:143)

“No soul shall be made to bear the liability of another.” (35:18 )

“God commands justice, the doing of good, and kindness to kith and kin, and He forbids all shameful deeds, and injustice and antagonism: He advises you, that ye may be reminded.” (16:90)

“God doth command you to render back your Trusts to those to whom they are due; and when ye judge between people that ye judge with justice: verily how excellent is the teaching which He giveth you! for God is He who heareth and seeth all things” (4:58)

“The recompense for an injury is an injury equal thereto (in degree): but if a person forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from God; for (God) loveth not those who are wrong-doers”. (42:40)

In the law of Equality there is (saving of) life to you O ye men of understanding! that ye may restrain yourselves. (2:179)

“And if you punish, you shall inflict an equivalent punishment. But if you resort to patience (instead of retribution), it would be better for the patient ones. (126) And do thou be patient, for thy patience is but from God; nor grieve over them: and distress not thyself because of their plots. (127) For God is with those who restrain themselves and those who do good.”  (16:126-128)

“You shall hand over to the orphans their rightful properties. Do not substitute the bad for the good, and do not consume their properties by combining them with yours. This would be a gross injustice.” (4:2)

“You shall test the orphans when they reach puberty. As soon as you find them mature enough, give them their property. Do not consume it extravagantly in a hurry, before they grow up” (4:6)

“O you who believe, do not consume each others’ properties illicitly. Only mutually acceptable transactions are permitted. You shall not kill yourselves. God is Merciful towards you.” (4:29)

  • Equality and brotherhood of mankind: No racism… No superiority… No tribalism

“Ye who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to God, even as against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, and whether it be (against) rich or poor: for God can best protect both. Follow not the desires (of your hearts) (4:135)

“O mankind! We created you from a single soul, male and female, and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may get to know one another. Truly, the most honoured of you in God’s sight is the greatest of you in righteousness. God is All-Knowing, All-Aware”. (49:13)

  • Qur’an forbids aggression:

‘You may fight in the cause of God against those who fight you, but do not initiate aggression. God does not love transgressors.’ (Quran; 2:190)

“There is the type of man whose speech about this world’s life may dazzle thee and he calls God to witness about what is in his heart; yet he is the most contentious of foes. And when he turns away, he roams the earth corruptingly, destroying properties and lives. God does not love corruption” (2:204-205)

  • Qur’an gives the permission to fighting BACK and resisting oppressive and tyrannical regimes in defence of the oppressed

“And what is wrong with you that you fight not in the Cause of God, and on behalf of those who are weak, ill treated and oppressed among men, women, and children, whose cry is: “Our Lord! Rescue us from this town (to freedom) whose people are oppressors; and raise for us, out of Thy Grace, a protector, and raise for us, out of Thy Grace, one who will bring us victory.” (4:75)

“To those against whom war is made, permission is given (to fight back), because they are wronged; and verily, God is most powerful for their aid; (They are) those who have been expelled from their homes in defiance of right,-(for no cause) except that they say, our Lord is God”. (22:39)

  • Freedom of thought, religious tolerance, and protection of the individual’s right to choose his/her pathway in life

“No compulsion in religion or ideology” (2:256)

The verse “no compulsion in religion” (2:256) and the verse “To you your religion, to me my religion” (109:6) have been interpreted in the Islamic legal and theological traditions to mean that the followers of other religions should not be forced to adopt Islam. Also they have been used as a “proof-text for pluralism and coexistence” and they served to implement tolerance of other religions under Muslim rule.

“Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in God hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold that never breaks. And God heareth and knoweth all things” (2:256)

“Proclaim: “This is the truth from your Lord,” then whoever wills let him believe, and whoever wills let him disbelieve” (18:29)

“Say : O ye that reject Faith!
I worship not that which ye worship,
Nor will ye worship that which I worship.
And I will not worship that which ye have been wont to worship,
Nor will ye worship that which I worship
To you be your religion and to me mine.”
(109:1-6)

“If any one does a righteous deed, it ensures to the benefit of his own soul; if he does evil, it works against (his own soul). In the end will you (all) be brought back to your Lord”. (45; 15)

“They respond to their Lord by observing the Contact Prayers. Their affairs are decided after due consultation among themselves, and from our provisions to them they give (to charity)” (42:38)

“They are the ones who examine all words, then follow the best. These are the ones whom God has guided; these are the ones who possess intelligence.” (39:18)

  • Respect of people of other faiths and ideologies: Every one will be judged fairly, salvation is for all good-doers, not just Muslims:

“Say: “O people of the Book! come to common terms as between us and you: that we worship none but God; that we associate no partners with Him; that we erect not from among ourselves Lords and patrons other than God .” If then they turn back, say: ye! “Bear witness that we (at least) are Muslims (bowing to God’s will).” (3:64)

  • Qur’an FORBIDS USURY and rejects financial systems which are built upon interest, debt and the exploitation of the poor, and promotes kindness and charity as the foundation of caring society:

“O ye who believe! Devour not usury, doubled and multiplied; but be God-conscious. That ye may (really) prosper” (3:130)

“Woe to those that deal in fraud, Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. Do they not think that they will be called to account?”(83:1-4)

“If the debtor is in a difficulty, grant him time till it is easy for him to repay. But if ye remit it by way of charity, that is best for you if ye only knew”. (2:280)

”Those who devour usury will not stand except as stands one whom the Evil One by his touch hath driven to madness. That is because they say: “Trade is like usury, but God hath permitted trade and forbidden usury. Those who after receiving direction from their Lord, desist, shall be pardoned for the past; their case is for God (to judge); but those who repeat (the offence) are companions of the Fire: they will abide therein (for ever)” (2:275)

  • Beyond social justice to compassion and generosity:

“So he who gives (in charity) and is God-conscious, and (in all sincerity) confirms the good, We will pave his way to bliss. But he who is a greedy, stingy and thinks himself self-sufficient, and denies the good, We will indeed pave his way to Misery. His wealth will not be of any help to him when he falls headlong (into the Pit)” (92:5-11)

Righteous are those who believe in God, the Last Day, the angels, the scripture, and the prophets; and they give the money, cheerfully, to the relatives, the orphans, the needy, the travelling foreigners, the beggars, and to free the slaves” (2:177)

“He (Muhammad) frowned and turned away. When the blind man came to him. How do you know? He may purify himself. Or he may take heed, and benefit from the message. As for the rich man. You gave him your attention. Even though you could not guarantee his salvation. The one who came to you eagerly. And is really reverent. You ignored him. Indeed, this is a reminder.” (80:1-11)

  • Free thinking, open-mindedness, not following ancestors blindly, and using one’s intellect are pillar of faith:

“Let the human reflect on his creation.” (86:5)

“Behold! in the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the alternation of Night and Day,― there are indeed Signs for men of understanding. Men who celebrate the praises of God standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and contemplate the (wonders of) creation in the heavens and the earth, (with the thought): “Our Lord! not for naught hast Thou created (all) this! Glory to Thee! Give us salvation from the penalty of the Fire” (3: 190-191)

“They are the ones who examine all words, then follow the best. These are the ones whom God has guided; these are the ones who possess intelligence.” (39:18)

“We made the Qur’an easy to learn. Does any of you wish to learn?” (54:17)

“They say: “Enough for us are the ways we found our fathers following.” what! even though their fathers were void of knowledge and guidance?” (5:104)

“O you who believe, you shall avoid any suspicion, for even a little bit of suspicion is sinful. You shall not spy on one another, nor shall you backbite one another; this is as abominable as eating the flesh of your dead brother. You certainly abhor this. You shall observe God. God is Redeemer, Most Merciful.” (49:12)

“O ye who believe! let not some men among you laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor let some women laugh at others: it may be that the (latter) are better than the (former): nor defame nor be sarcastic to each other, nor call each other by (offensive) nicknames: Ill-seeming is a name connoting wickedness, (to be used of one) after he has believed: And those who do not desist are (Indeed) doing wrong.” (49:11)

“Kind words and the covering of faults are better than charity followed by injury. God is free of all wants, and He is Most Forbearing” (2:263)

“O ye who believe! Cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury― like those who spend their substance to be seen of men” (2:264)

“O ye who believe! Give of the good things which ye have (honourably) earned, and of the fruits of the earth which We have produced for you, and do not even aim at getting anything which is bad in order, that out of it ye may give away something, when ye yourselves would not receive it except with closed eyes. And know that God is Free of all wants and Worthy of all praise” (2:267)

“And We have enjoined on the human being in (regard to) his two parents – his mother bore him in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning was two years – Give thanks to Me and to your parents. To Me is the goal. But if they strive with you to associate with Me (gods) you do not know about, then do not obey them. But keep company with them both in the world in an honourable manner, and follow the path of who repents to Me. Then I will tell you what you have worked.” (31:14-15)

“And We have enjoined on the human being in (regard to) his two parents the most beautiful conduct. But if they strive with you to associate with Me (gods) you do not know about, then do not obey them. You all will return to Me and I will tell you what you have worked” (29: 8)”And We have enjoined on the human being in (regard to) his two parents the most beautiful conduct. His mother bore him under duress and brought him forth under duress. And his bearing and his weaning was thirty months. At length, when he reaches the age of forty, he says, “My Lord and Sustainer, grant to me that I am thankful for the graciousness that You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and that I may work righteousness pleasing to You, and make my offspring righteous. Surely I turn to You and surely I am of those who submit (to You).” (46:15)

”Your Lord has commanded that you shall not worship (anyone) but Him and to be good to the parents. If either or both of them reach old age with you, say not to them (so much as) ‘Ugh’ nor chide them, and speak to them a generous word. And lower for them ‘the wings of humility’ out of mercy; and pray; ‘O my Lord! Have mercy on them as they brought me up (when I was) little.’” (17:23-24)

”O Prophet) say, “Come, I will read out to you the sacred rules your Lord and Sustainer has given you: That you do not associate anything as a partner with Him. That you give beautiful conduct to the two parents. That you do not kill your children fearing flat poverty – We will provide for you and for them. That you do not even go near lewdness, neither the obvious nor the hidden. That you do not kill the life that God has made sacred, except in the truth (of what has been commanded). That is what He has enjoined upon you in order that you become intelligent.” (6:151)

“O humankind! Be in awe of your Lord and Sustainer, He who created you all from a single soul, and created from it her mate, and from the two of them brought forth many men and women. Be in awe of God and of the wombs (that bore you). Surely God is watching over you.”(4: 1)

  • Striving for perfecting of human values and elevating the standard of morality:

Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him, declared “Verily I was sent to this World to define (and live by) the Generous Temperament.”

According to him, the codes of Generous Temperament (makarem elakhlaq) are seven:

“Pardoning those who have oppressed you

Giving to those who have deprived you

Connecting with those who have shunned you

Benefiting those who have abused you

Counselling those who have deceived you

Forgiving those who have maligned you

Forbearing with those who have angered you.”

Prophet Muhammad also said:

“God, said: O My servants, I have forbidden oppression for Myself and have made it forbidden amongst you, so do not oppress one another.”

“You will never enter Paradise until you love each other.”

“None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself”

“God has no mercy on one who has no mercy for others.”

“The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self”

“Do not belittle any act of kindness, even that of greeting your brother with a cheerful countenance.”

“God does not judge you according to your appearance and your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and looks into your deeds”

” Who is the most favoured of God? He, from whom the greatest good comes to His creatures”

“The most excellent Jihad is that for the conquest of self”

“It is difficult for a man laden with riches to climb the steep path, that leads to bliss”

“Who are the learned? Those who practice what they know.”

“Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith.”

“Whoever is kind, God will be kind to him; therefore be kind to man on the earth. He Who is in heaven will show mercy on you”

” God has revealed to me, that you must be humble. No one should boast over one another, and no one should oppress another”

“Say what is true, although it may be bitter and displeasing to people”

“The most perfect in faith amongst believers is he who is best in manner and kindest to his wife.”

Islam, Media, Terror; a Muslim Perspective

Islam, Media, and Terror: A Muslim Perspective

Disclaimer: This essay is a rebuttal against the orchestrated systematic media attacks on Islam, and the consequences of these assaults in the perpetuation of the War on “Terror.”
Discussing faith might not be the atheist/secular cup of tea, however, I would still advise perseverance. Read however much or little you can if only to adjust and address the imbalance created by years of media falsification. I would also advise to keep the article for future reference in case you ever need to refer to it.

A middle aged person today would have lived to witness 9/11 and its peculiar narrative, all the hubris, cover up and distortion of the event with full participation of the media. All under our watchful eyes. A war on “terror” declared, nations destroyed, countries devastated, human rights violated, and unwarranted lies perpetuated, without witnessing the real criminals ever being prosecuted or brought to justice.

The aim pursued by the warmongers—their mainstream media (MSM) and political associates— is to manufacture consent, blind acquiescence… no thinking needed, for ceaseless wars, for carpet bombings and wholesale assassination against countries where a majority of people are Muslims. And Arabs at large.

That systematic hammering from all directions is the toxic mechanism to remove human compassion from those who are subjected to that endless brainwashing, or to dwindle it down and make it selective. In fact, in concert with the endless flow of false information about Islam and Muslims—the wars, genocides, destruction of entire regions—is the deafeningly loud SILENCE, the almost total blackout of information and reporting…

…on what?

On the daily slaughter and ripping apart of populations, children, women, men, environment, vegetation, landscape, especially in Palestine where those who concoct this hatred are perpetrating it in the most visible way. And yet these daily routine acts of violence are the least reported: Children on their way to pray, children in schools, children playing in kindergarten, entire besieged populations getting mowed down, shot at point-blank range, starved, and imprisoned. AND NO ONE REPORTS IT!

At best we are subjected to the daily dose of endless somber about the woe of the holocaust, and the neverending grief and guilt of what happened to Jews, and their “exceptional unique suffering” comparable to none. All the while the drums of hate are beating against Hizbullah and Hamas as the “terrorists.” and a Palestinian teen who “makes a knife attack against a soldier.”

Of all the lies, manipulations, bias and concealment of truth of the MSM, nothing is more glaring than the distorted way Islam and Muslims are represented, cultivating fear of Islam and sewing hatred against Muslims in the hearts of millions across the globe— despite the fact that Muslims make up almost one fourth of the world’s population.

In this essay I will try to untangle the web of lies and to deconstruct the false paradigm imposed upon the majority of inhabitants of this planet. Focusing on key words that have been tactically, erroneously and repeatedly used in the MSM, and how they form the thread that holds the web of deception together (as masterminded and executed by the no-need-to-name crowd of the dark agenda).

Now try this, read these words … s…l…o…w…l…y… and loudly then count your heartbeats and pay attention to your feelings:

Allahu Akbar… Islam… Jihad… Fatwa… Dhimmi… Shariah… Caliphate…

Did you feel shivers running down your spine upon reading one of these words, let alone all combined?

These words have become trigger words in the trusting, receptive and unquestioning mind, provoking predictable reactions, discomfort and uneasiness shooting up on the spectrum of negative feeling fluctuating between hate, fear and anger all wrapped up in one.

  • “Islam is violence and terror.”

  • “Jihad is holy war and killing of innocents.”

  • “Allahu Akbar is shouted before killing oneself along with others.”

  • “Fatwa is the death penalty.”

  • “Dhimmi is the oppressed non-Muslim living among Muslims.”

  • “Caliphate is a Muslim ruler under whom non-Muslims would be enslaved and oppressed.”

  • “Shari’a is a system of slavery where non-Muslims would be forbidden to drink alcohol and pork, and their women would be forced to wear hijab.”

  • “Muslim women are the manifestation of oppression, uneducated, forced into wearing the veil, and enslaved by their men.”

  • “Muslim men are long- bearded, scary-looking fanatics… and cruel, sadistic wife beaters.”

  • “Muslim children are terrorists in the making.”

and so on and so forth.

Following the MSM and observing the endless propaganda against Islam, one can identify the unmistakable agenda aimed at projecting specific meanings assigned to certain words in order to achieve the intended mind manipulation.

The way these trigger words have been used in the past two decades, and what they’ve been associated with, have draped them with venom and soaked them with poison. Then they are used as a Perception Management technique of the highest order. Rather than awakening curiosity for knowledge, they are used to invoke terror, dim the intellect, and inflame the emotions. Thus, the listener is no longer able to think rationally, but only react emotionally with a massive adrenal rush, put in a fight-or-flight situation as if facing a primordial threat to life. All logical thinking disintegrates.

This is no coincidence, it is a concerted and calculated effort to numb the world against the ongoing/upcoming genocide in many Muslim-majority lands.

Reclaiming Our Language:

To reverse this mechanism, I will kindly request your company on a short journey in which you will witness with your own eyes the layers of poison being stripped away one by one. As you become informed with the true meanings of these hijacked words, be prepared to lose your bewilderment and leave the false drama behind you.

Suffice it to share the true meaning of these words as they are understood in the world and text of authentic Islam, and then for the penny to drop and the reader to realise the level of deception played upon his/her mind:

  • Jihad is an Arabic word meaning the struggle, the endeavour to do your very best to be your best and to make this world a better place.

Any effort to help achieve that is called jihad, or struggle; going to school to learn is jihad, being a mother/father rearing children is jihad, spreading knowledge through teaching or writing is jihad, treating patients is jihad, looking after sick parents is jihad, siding with justice is jihad, defending the weak is jihad, feeding the poor is jihad, speaking truth in times of deception is Jihad, also defending yourself or others when attacked is jihad, and struggling against oppression is jihad.

Any action that one undertakes in order to bring good to mankind is jihad.

Life with all its ups and downs is a jihad.

The highest form of Jihad, however, is the Inner Jihad, or Major Jihad, that is, the ongoing inner struggle against one’s ego, arrogance, greed, fear, resentment, selfishness, jealousy, envy, etc., in order to achieve the Generous Temperament.

The Prophet Muhammad, Peace be upon him, said: “Verily I was sent to this World to define (and live by) the Generous Temperament.”

According to him, the codes of Generous Temperament (makarem elakhlaq مكارم الأخلاق) are seven:

  • “Pardoning those who have oppressed you
  • Giving to those who have deprived you
  • Connecting with those who have shunned you
  • Benefiting those who have abused you
  • Counselling those who have deceived you
  • Forgiving those who have maligned you
  • Forbearing with those who have angered you.”

Contrary to common belief, the concept of holy war does not even exist in Islam; it is a European concept from the days of the crusaders, it has absolutely no equivalent in Islam. However, it does exist, as it seems, in the minds of war criminal politicians and Zionists of all varieties, and in the sick minds of those who have waged wars of aggression, invaded and destroyed so many countries around the world, maiming, expelling and killing millions of innocent people in the name of “God-given promised land.”

To translate the word/concept of Holy War into Arabic is quasi impossible. It would sound something like “Harb Muqaddassah” which does not exist in the language nor terminology. Neither the word nor the concept are known or used—not in the spoken dialect nor written Standard Arabic. It is evidently contrary to Islamic principles and Qur’anic values, as you will see from the Qur’anic evidence.

Then, how misleading and dishonest is the use and misconception of jihad as a holy war!

  • Islam: Islam is an Arabic word that shares the same root (slm) with the words “salam” and “Istislam.”

Where “salam” means: peace, and “Istislam” means: submission.

The word Islam means: achieving peace through submission to God.

Islam consequently is nothing but the willful devotion and surrender to the will of the Creator, following the rest of creation, who follow these Laws unwillingly. When we love our Creator deeply, we are in a state of constant adoration, our will becomes nothing but His will and our desire will be identical to God’s desire.

Hence, the essence of Islam as a faith is that mankind can achieve peace by knowing, connecting, submitting with devoting and adoration to the All-Loving Creator. The Qur’an teaches: souls can only find tranquility, joy, and serenity by being in a state of constant awareness and remembrance of the Most Loving through which intimate closeness and true peace can be experienced and achieved.

  • Allahu Akbar: God is the Greatest, Greater than any other idol/idea/being, people may seek for adoration and worship. Greater than wealth, greater than ego, Greater than tribe, greater than power, greater than desire… etc.

Allahu Akbar is used by almost two billion Muslims on this planet, hundreds of times daily, tens of times during the daily prayers. If it would mean what the media says it means, there would be no non-Muslim alive today.

  • Fatwa is nothing but the expression of an informed opinion by an educated knowledgeable person, in matters of theology:

Being what it is, a mere theological opinion, it is not up to any one to enforce their fatwa/ opinion upon anyone. Absolutely not. Because it contradicts the free-will, granted to every human being by their Creator, which is the heart of the belief system in Islam. There is no hierarchy, no priesthood, no church institution, and no clergy in Islam; and that is something totally misunderstood, overlooked and ignored.

Any Muslim is entitled to formulate his/her opinion from their own investigation and understanding of the Qur’anic text. “Seek fatwa from within your own heart, even if people give you theirs,” as the saying goes.

  • Shari’a is the Arabic word for “the road to the watering place.” In a religious context, it means “the righteous path.”

Shari’a is not a rigid set of Laws, but rather a Set of Principles with which one is expected to align himself/herself and strive to achieve JUSTICE—which lies at the heart of Shari’a and considered its foremost aim, using whatever means of human wisdom, knowledge, comprehension, effort and capacity to establish and nourish.

These are, the six principles of shariah which is concluded from the Qur’an by Muslim scholars:

  1. The right to the protection of life.
  2. The right to the protection of family.
  3. The right to the protection of education.
  4. The right to the protection of religion.
  5. The right to the protection of property (access to resources).
  6. The right to the protection of human dignity.

With the establishment of communities with people of Islamic faith, political entities were formed, and like everywhere else in the world, bodies of Civil Laws were set, with regional and local differences. These laws are derived from the predominant moral principles carried and defined in different locations and places where Muslims live.

While fleshed with human understanding and interpretation, the backbone of these Laws is sourced in major Islamic books and references, in the Qur’an, in the documented saying of Muhammed known as Hadith, and then in the works of Muslim scholars past and present to allow adaptation and evolution. In essence, it the same influence of initial religious moral principles found in any legal codex anywhere in the world.

No, Shari’a is not carved on stone or set in cement. No, Shari’a by its own definition cannot be enforced on anyone nor can following its principles be enforced on anyone, let alone on non-Muslims. Just like choosing to follow Islam can only be acknowledged and recognised when done under absolute free-will, so is following the Islamic moral principles, i.e. Shari’a.

I emphasise Shari’a can NOT by any means be enforced on a non-Muslim, it can only be applied for those who out of their own free will choose to live by Islam as a philosophy of life, faith and set of principles, otherwise it will contradict the major Qur’anic principle “No compulsion in religion.”

Despite all the incessant fear-mongering against the word Sharia, which has infected almost every corner in the Western mind and sphere of thinking, the phrase Noahide Laws—which has already been adopted by many countries in the world—did not even surface. It is a taboo that no one talks about and is never discussed in the Islam-crazed media, very few have even heard of it.

If you don’t know yet what Noahide Laws are, you can begin your research with Jewish Halachiac Laws for GENTILES

  • Dhimmi: In predominantly Muslim societies the minority groups are referred to as ahl eldhimmeh. A foreigner living in a Muslim land is called dhimmi, which means in Arabic the protected.

“In my dhimmeh” means within/under my protection. The name itself implies the fundamental necessity to provide minorities with protection and care in any Muslim-majority society. This has been the practice throughout history.

Suffice to know that during the period of persecution of Jews they have always found safety and protection in Muslims lands. (!!!)

Living in a Muslim-majority society, in which Muslims participate in supporting the needy, the sick, and the entire society—as a duty (Zakah)—it is only reasonable that non-Muslim minority members would, too, participate in paying taxes (Jeziah) which would benefit society in general, including themselves.

A well known saying of the prophet is “Whoever harms a dhimmi harms me personally.” Throughout history minorities of all ethnic, religious, and ideological background have lived peacefully in Muslim lands enjoying full rights and responsibilities. A glaring example is the Christian community living in Palestine for centuries with full rights. The keys of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher are still entrusted with two Muslim families who look after the church. That was Christians’ choice (to reduce the tension among different Christian sects).

Does Islam tolerate other beliefs?

It is one function of Islamic law to protect the privileged status of minorities, this is why non-Muslim places of worship have flourished all over the Islamic world. History provides many examples of Muslim tolerance towards other faiths: When the caliph Omar entered Jerusalem in the year 634, Islam granted freedom of worship to all religious communities in the city.

Islamic law also permits non-Muslim minorities to set up their own courts, which implement family laws drawn up by the minorities themselves. When the caliph Omar took Jerusalem from the Byzantine, he insisted on entering the city with only a small number of his companions. Proclaiming to the inhabitants that their lives and property were safe, and that their places of worship would never be taken from them, he asked the Christian patriarch Sophronius to accompany him on a visit to all the holy places.

The Patriarch invited him to pray in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, but he preferred to pray outside its gates, saying that if he accepted, later generations of Muslims might use his action as an excuse to turn it into a mosque.

  • Caliphate: Now what is the truth about “Caliphate?”

What does the word “Caliphate” actually mean?

Does it exist in the Qur’an, and if it does, in what context?

Like many Arabic words we’ve seen above—snatched out of the Arabic language, deformed out of context, eviscerated and ripped of meaning, magnified on front pages of the MSM, distorted, twisted and bent beyond recognition—the word Khalifah has been similarly abused. It has been used by Zionists and their apologists to foment hatred against Islam, to serve their hate-fear-mongering programme, and justify their incessant wars of aggression planned and executed against many countries in the Muslim world, to suit the Zionist agenda.

Even a major online “Free Dictionary” follows the same distortion without providing any evidence whatsoever:

khalifah – the civil and religious leader of a Muslim state considered to be a representative of Allah on earth; many radical Muslims believe a Khalifah will unite all Islamic lands and people and subjugate the rest of the world. [Italics for emphasis by author.]

Such twisting and misrepresentation in the realm of the “war of ideas” presented as “information” couldn’t be further from truth, as every person with slightest exposure to, or knowledge of Islam is able to verify.

Coming back to the word Caliph, it is a translation from the Arabic word khalifa (خليفة, khalīfah) meaning successor, representative, vicegerent, caretaker, substitute. It is used in the Qur’an to establish mankind’s role as representatives of God on earth in the sense of living by God’s names, attributes, and principles of Justice, Peace, Compassion, Purity, Generosity—to take care of, protect, and establish just and compassionate societies.

The true meaning is that every human being is given the responsibility of a caretaker of earth and life on it, NOT “the civil and religious leader of a Muslim state considered to be a representative of Allah.” And it does not apply to Muslims only, rather to the entire body of humanity.

Kalifah describes the real nature of man’s (as in all mankind) role on earth; a caretaker.

The term Caliph (خليفة‎ khalīfah) is also used as a title for the ruler, a head of state of an Islamic Ummah indicating his responsibilities and duties.

(Ummah: a community that accepts Islam out of their own free will and accepted to live by general set of moral principles as presented in the Qur’an).

Historically, leaders of a Muslim nation were called Khalifat Rasul Allah, i.e. political successors to the messenger (referring to Muhammad). Khalifah can be a female also, as was Sitt Al-Mulk in 11th century Egypt.

Conclusion

Do not gobble the unhealthy diet of processed indigestible toxic information fed to the dazed mind. Be alert, investigate, think, analyse, discern.

For further reading, in this link (Major Qur’anic Principles) you will find quotations from the Qur’an to highlight and fortify the foundations of Islamic principles related to the above.
