First “We call on Hamas to release the hostages and hand them over to the Red Cross,”
Second that “the Palestinian Authority must return to the Gaza Strip with the more active participation of Arab and European countries.”
The first is a failure to apply most cursory Legal standards of Foreign Affairs.
A friend of mine sent me a copy of an open letter he sent to Vice President Josep Borrell.
I feel such letters to high representatives of National and International organisations, calling them out for either their inadequate or at best insufficient intervention against 75 years of Crimes Against Humanity in Palestine, should be sent in ever growing numbers.
Please feel free to use the letter as template.

Attention Mr Josep Borrell
Sir,
Providing this a correct report, it is to wonder why you did not also make the fair call on the jewish state ‘israel’ to hand over the 2.3 million civilians held hostages in Gaza since decades, and the thousands of Palestinian hostages from West Bank held prisoner in the jewish state’s horror prisons where jewish israelis torture and rape children?
Why Sir, did you not apply the same standard to the perpetrator of 75 years of incremental Genocide, as you applied in your declaration to the Gazan Palestinians victim of this Genocide, and their Legitimate, Lawful armed Resistance?
“the Palestinian Authority must return to the Gaza Strip with the more active participation of Arab and European countries.”
I would recommend you consult both EU’s charters of Fundamental Rights, as well as UN’s Charter, wherein you will not find anywhere, not explicitly, not implicitly, and not de jure, that it would be EU’s or UN’s role or right to engage into “regime change”. To call for “a more active participation of EU” in the governance of non-EU countries or regions or nations, is tantamount to reviving colonialism.
As a simple citizen of a European Country and of a North American country, both with full membership in the United Nations, I should not have to remind a man with your prestigious biography of his obligations, rights and boundaries thereof at a time of great urgency.
More importantly still, I would remind you that the full terms of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union, unequivocally warrants the immediate removal of the jewish state ‘israel’ as an Associate State to the EU, and warrants the cancellation of every trade agreement with that jewish state ‘israel’.
I would also remind you, that the jewish state of “israel’ and its irrefutably Genocidal atrocities since 75 years, with endless evidence of Intent, is in breach of every single article of UN’s Charter, and always was in breach thus never qualified to be a member thereof. This irrefutably warrants the immediate removal of ‘israel’ undue membership of the UN. It is within your prerogatives, rights and obligations as a Vice-President of the European Commission, to make EU’s call on the UN General Assembly and Security Council, to evict, annul and cancel with immediate effect the undue membership of the jewish state “israel’ from the United Nations.
When will you call for the removal of the genocidal state ‘israel’ as an Associate State to the EU’s?
When will you call the UN for the cancellation of the membership of the genocidal state ‘israel’ ?
If you feel you must make calls in your prestigious capacity, when will you address -as any man of Honor would do, the jewish state as a Genocidal state who commits State terrorism and Crimes Against Humanity? And when will you call for its dissolution, the prosecution of those of its citizens who committed and commit atrocities, the Right of Return of the betrodden Palestinian Nation, full restitution of their stolen land and property, compensation for over 75 years of abominable suffering and Genocidal atrocities ?
Or did I miss it, that Crimes Against Humanity have become a prerequisite condition to be a member of the EU, or the UN ?
