Grief nested in every corner
Sorrow-filled heart cocooned, exhausted
Gasping for life, strangled by years of separation
Yearning for loved ones in far away lands
Praying in despair for a moment of contentment
Of reunion
Lo and behold
Gracious Hands descend in abundance
Carrying loved ones on wings of mercy
Gathering them one by one
Inside this weary heart they danced and smiled
Under their feet wild flowers bloom
Thank You dear Lord, they’ve come back home

Thank you again so much Nahida….did I tell you that we are going to open an Al Nakba Museum/Centre in Amsterdam? Kindest regards, Joop & Ans Jansen The Netherlands
What Nakba means is still virtually unknown in Netherlands. What the holocaust means knowing them all and is terribly found. Rightly so. However this horror, which after six years of preparation lasted only five years and said, ‘ never again ‘, became three years later used against people and land of Palestine and has been going on for 67 years. It is the most serious genocide, ethnic cleansing and total destruction of a civilization in modern history of the world. Worse, this ultimate crime against humanity is performed by the survivors and descendants of the nazi death camps against a people that part still had to part.
A group of historically and legally conscious people in Netherlands has concluded that it is now high time that in Amsterdam a great Center to the public information on Palestine and the Nakba (catastrophe) will give her skin.
Why in Amsterdam? Because in this city already for decades, a holocaust Memorial, an Anne Frank House, an Anne Frank Theatre (recently) and a Jewish historical museum from which the public, especially school children, one-sided and often contrary to the true historical facts, knowingly on a false trail. For that reason there is chosen for an impressive building that as a symbol for the Palestinian rights geschoffeerde a giant key, thus declaring that the right of return will be never given nor the fight for a free and undivided Palestine.
For the above reasons, the building will be set up as a museum with the amenities that go with them and including areas for giving lectures, screenings, workshops and keeping Nakba commemorations. In addition, a library with study area and an archive.
There will be a permanent exhibition about the following: * a look at the Palestine as it was from the 80 ‘s of the 19th century up to the Balfour Declaration of 1917 * an overview of the history of Palestine to the UN partition plan of 1947 * the continuing Nakba from 1947 to the present * an overview of ‘ The Palestinian Heritage ‘ that was destroyed by the usurpers of Palestine and is * an overview of the endangered world heritage sites in Al Quds and other Palestine * the occupation in practice: how genocide, torture, land, water and soil materials roof as well as destruction of houses and buildings, including looting is carried out by the occupier of Palestine.
Information about the Palestinian position will be given exclusively by Palestinians.
Full cooperation is already pledged by the Gretta Duisenberg Foundation in Gaza.
For this ambitious project, which in the opinion of the initiators, an essential and much-needed impetus to the liberation of Palestine fast approaching, is obviously much needed money. Before a budget is drawn up. Fundraising abroad has been launched.
So much for an update of the plans to achieve a Nakba Museum in Amsterdam.
