Where did the colours go?
Black and grey is all I see
An ocean of tears floods my soul
Smiles are gone, washed down the drain
Why did the rainbow lose
Its heavenly glory and radiant hues?
A shadow of sorrow arched in pain
A testimony of humans’ downfall
Why did the flowers die?
The fierce and wild, wilting away
No birds flying, no joy, no dance
The sky is bleeding acid rain
Why the willows are weeping, loud?
Their songs of praise no longer heard
Did someone rip their hearts apart?
Did they choke of grief and pain?
A soul of light has lost insight
Every word becomes a knife
Every thought causes a strife
Life is heavier than it can bear
