Free Freedom

Life has taught me

The most wonderful thing about it is

All its treasures come free

* * *

Rocks and pebbles

Amazing stones

Mighty trees

Shining stars

Sky that shelters

The air we breathe

Hills and mountains

Shores and valleys

Rivers and seas

Sand and soil

Snow and rain

Clouds and breeze

Hands that feel

Hearts that dance

Joints and knees

Flowers and roses

Colours and shades

The eye that sees

Enchanting sounds

Humming birds

The ear that hears

Friends and family

Love and joy

The smile that heals

I also learned that

All its creatures… born free… born free

Why is the fight then?

Why oppress? why enslave?

When freedom is for ALL

And ALL is FREE

The Last Encounter with my Atheist Friend

A few day ago, I lost a dear friend, with whom I worked for supporting Palestine and the Palestinian cause.
We also used to have deep existential discussions about meaning of life, God, faith…etc.

Unfortunately, for many years, he joined the crowd who accused me of “antisemitism”, however about a year ago, he rethought his position and regretted what was done, came many times to visit me despite his very ill-health.

This is my tribute to the good memory of my friend, sharing with the world, our last encounter:

*  *  *
In his hospital bed
He spoke of agony and the torment in his head
“The closest I could describe”, he said
“As if my head is full of chains, entangled and rattling inside
While being pulled in every direction”
.
.
He told me he’s yearning to find some peace
Not through brain-numbing tablets
But the other way, the spiritual way
.
.
“Even though I was an atheist, I never was anti-religion
I always respected people of faith” he whispered
“Sometimes when I used to feel overwhelmed by life
I used to stop by the mosque on the way
Sit there for sometime
Watch people pray
Much love, warmth and peace
I always felt in that place
Calm and uplifted I left
Every time I’ve been”
.
.
Gasping for air
Gasping for life
Gasping for help
Holding on my hand
In utter despair
“I want to feel that peace again”, he said
.
* * *
Did you try praying?” I asked
“Try it out, just say anything that comes to mind
* * *
.
With tear filled eyes, and trembling voice, he said:
“but I don’t know how
I don’t know what to say
I don’t know where to start
I don’t know where to start”
.
* * *
Just say God, help me”, I whispered
* * *
“God help me
God, help me

God, help me…”

He repeated passionately

.
.
Pausing for a moment, he said:
“I feel like a hypocrite
I don’t want to be a hypocrite
 I never called unto God, never believed
I don’t want to be a hypocrite”
* * *
You are not a hypocrite, just say:
“God, IF you are there please help me”
* * *
Tears streaming,  repeating over and over and over again:
 “God if you are there , if you hear me, please help me”
“God, I want to believe, God I want to believe…”
“God, if what am going through is my repay
for the bad things I’ve done in my life, so be it”
“I guess I know why I wasn’t able to  believe
I refused to acknowledge my vulnerabilities
The need for someone greater is a sign of weakness,
I always thought”
.
.
“I know how atheists think
They think that people of faith are weak idiots
Gullible freaks
But how can that be!
When the strongest most intelligent people I ever met;
Were a devout Muslim woman  and a Christian priest”
.

.

Just as I was leaving, saying goodbye

He asked me to write “the prayer I said”

On a piece of paper

I did

“God, IF you are there please help me”

* * *

May your God-yearning soul find its way Home

May it finally dwell in peace

Home in my Heart

Grief nested in every corner

Sorrow-filled heart cocooned, exhausted

Gasping for life, strangled by years of separation

Yearning for loved ones in far away lands

Praying in despair for a moment of contentment

Of reunion

Lo and behold

Gracious Hands descend in abundance

Carrying loved ones on wings of mercy

Gathering them one by one

Inside this weary heart they danced and smiled

Under their feet wild flowers bloom

Thank You dear Lord, they’ve come back home

Hour before the Dawn

* * *

Earth is throbbing in curious anticipation

The avalanche is fast approaching

People dazed in deep sleep

Some eyes are peeled as if they know

* * *
* * *

Time to retreat, weary soul

Time to retreat

Rest in a niche where Light descends

Hand it all over to the One Supreme

Carve a hole in your heart, braid your loved ones in

One by one

* * *

* * *

O soul

Put your temporary house in order

Clean up the mess before the storm

Pluck up the weeds and plow the soil

Scatter the seeds for those to come

Give it back better than you received

Stunning… Atrociously beautiful

Humbly put your head down and pray

A modest sign of ample gratitude

* * *

* * *

Raise your gaze up to the sky

Note the signs to your dwelling place

Adorn the garden of your home eternal

Let love flow free, let kindness prevail

Follow your soul, she knows the way

Let her guide you to your heavenly abode

Beneath the Throne of a Gracious Lord

Gaze in amazement at the glorious sight

Wither to nothingness before the Majesty

Splendour no eye had ever seen

An Ode for Hope

* * *

The more they deplore, attempt to destroy

The more I fall in love, fiercely adore

* * *

* * *

The more they imprison, crush or trash

The more I delight, hold dear and revere

* * *

* * *

The more they smash, sever or detach

I will kiss it better, wholeheartedly embrace

* * *

* * *

Do as you please, choose evil be vile

Break me, you will never… shake me you will fail

* * *

* * *

My inexplicable verve -driving you insane, is not of my own

A droplet from above, bequest of the Divine, Most Loving Sublime

Controlled opposition? You Bet!

I find this precious admission -by none other than the handler himself bragging about his role in “engineering” Palestinian actions and reaction, I find it horrifically disturbing yet not all surprising, in fact it offers a profound confirmation to all what I have had suspected and have been writing about all along

With the above few words by Tony Greenstien, we caught the “handler” red handed, offering us the damning irrefutable evidence against his own work as a “handler” par excellence. We stand stunned before one notorious Jewish anti-Zionist -who “perfected” his role in controlled opposition, exposing his dirty tricks in manipulating Palestinians, meddling with their discourse, attempting to control their narrative and steer and divert their noble struggle of liberation into one of ADL battlefields, namely “fighting antisemitism”.

Under such conditions and with this glaring example of preemptive calculated strikes, aiming at defining the aims, tactics, and agenda for Palestinians and steering the pro-Palestinian movement as a whole via “handling” Palestinians themselves and “engineering” Palestinian discourse, it is imperative for the Palestinians and Palestine Solidarity movement to introduce regulations that will shut the door before any such manipulators, and open doors for unrestricted intellectual debate, freedom of expression and transparency. Failure to address these serious issue would only cause the continuation and aggravation of the crippling shift that has already befallen the movement.

It is therefore essential to crack open the shells of exclusion and secrecy of  Jewish anti-Zionist groups, wherein the Greensteins of our world thrive and prosper in their exclusive Jewish only groups, to plot and “engineer”, and wherein discussions are consumed by fighting “antisemitism” and bashing “holocaust deniers”. Time has come to put an end to exclusive private meeting in which discussions are exhausted by questions like which “unfavourable” information should be concealed, which debate to “allow”, which books to burn, which people to disavow, which motions to propose and which events to protest or to oppose.

It is paramount to expose the origins and “engineers” of such sinister attacks against free thinking activists who might not conform to “permissible” line of discourse, and to challenge the ghettos in which such manipulation is cooked and shamelessly “engineered”.
