Simple truth

Simple truth

Give me some pebbles to throw

Pebbles are the pathway to life

The echo of its music stays

Long after the shadow of the tyrant

 Fades away

Tell me;

Did you spend your life

Searching for happiness

Running after crumbs of food

Accumulating tons of rotting clothes

Desiring heaps of rusty cars

Building a house of rubbles

Chasing a mirage?

Calm down

Sit for a moment

And listen to your heart-beat

Whispering :

Your tomorrow never comes

Your yesterday has long gone

Your life is nothing but this moment

You are no-where; but now and here

Don’t travel far

The dream of happiness you’re after

Is very near; inside

So, give me some pebbles to throw

Pebbles are the pathway to life

The echo of its music stays

Long after the shadow of the tyrant

 Fades away

My first letter

My first letter

During the 1967 war, I was only seven when we were forced to leave Palestine in search of safety, thinking that it’s only a matter of weeks before we could go back home. We were denied that right ever since.

As a refugee in Jordan I wrote this letter to my auntie who stayed behind in Palestine.  However, she never received it.  When I saw her 37 years later, I read the letter to her face to face.

Dearest Auntie Intisar,

I have been waiting

For many, many days

Many, many weeks

To come back home

And see you

Give you a big hug

I miss you so

I miss my bedtime stories

You used to tell me

Ali Baba, wishater Hassan

I miss your warm and gentle hand

Stroking through my hair

Till I fall asleep

I tried to come with my mum

And cross the boarders

Many times

“They” wouldn’t let us through

If I’d known

That this is what they’d do

I would never ever have left Palestine

But don’t worry auntie

Because I have a plan…

When I grow up

I’ll go to university

I’ll study magic

then become a fairy

I’ll turn all the soldiers into little ants

Harmless, tiny and peaceful

They’ll go away

And Leave us alone

We’ll cross the boarders

And be together again

In our homeland

Palestine

Love, hugs and kisses

Your niece

If Only You Could Hear!

If Only You Could Hear!

If you can

Just sit for a moment

And listen …

Listen to the birds

Singing songs of praise

65786_3549450974391_47570650_n

Listen … to the breeze

Whispering to the trees

“Would you pray with me tonight?”

“Yes, with all my heart,

Love, joy and delight”

Listen …

Can you hear the rhythm

Of the stone’s heartbeat?

“I love you God”

Their words with every beat

 Picture 181aa

Listen …

Can you hear the silence

In a tranquil summer night

Deep … deep .. silence

Is the language of the heart

 Picture 345 - Copy

Listen …

Rain drops tap-dancing

Tip-top … drip-drop

Tiny elegant steps

A never-ending story

Proclaiming God’s wonders

And His majestic glory

Listen …

Can you feel the serenity

Of golden wheat grains

Bowing down their heads

Giving mother earth

A great big embrace

Listen…

Can you hear the rainbow

Stretching up and down

Reaching out to heaven

Then bending like a clown

Dazzling amalgamation

Most certainly divine

Listen …

The dignified roses

Extending out their hands

Calling you to pray

Come and join the crowd

God is The Greatest

Most Gracious, Most Kind

Atoms are dancing

Going round and round

Joyful in their orbits

What a graceful band

Praising their creator

Joining hand in hand

Listen …

Numbers are standing

Magnificent is the sign

Starting from the zero

Infinite is the line

Unique in their performance

Majestic their design

Praying in adoration

Humbly kneeling down

Galaxies are twirling

Wrapped up in cosmic light

Swaying in their dresses

Glowing through the night

All shapes colours and sizes

What an awesome sight

Glorifying their Designer

Grace, peace and delight

Political Mathematics OR Mathematical Politics

X=  In 1948, a small country,

Called Palestine

Was savagely attacked

By Zionist Jews

Who came from all over the world

80% of the land was occupied

They then named it “Israel

In 1967, the rest of Palestine

 Was taken over

* * * * *

Y= Palestine was inhabited by Palestinians

Which (according to Zionists)

Was defined as Φ

 i.e. the Palestinians didn’t exist

Still, they killed some of them

Exiled some more

And kept the rest under occupation

* * * * *

Z= Palestinians, like every other nation

 Resisted occupation

 For over than 46 years

Non violent Strikes

 And demonstrations

* * * * *

A= In 1994, in the month of Ramadan

A settler named Goldstein

Armed to his teeth

Entered a mosque in Hebron

Attacked the worshipers

 While kneeling down

He injured over sixty

And massacred 29

* * * * *

B=   A few days later

Surprise surprise

The first Palestinian

Suicide-bombing

Was the front page cover

In every news paper

* * * * *

How can you solve the problem?

Given that:     F= freedom    J= Justice    P= Peace S= Security     W= war

Z + B = Resistance        X + Y + A = Aggressive Occupation

 ————————————————————————————————————————————-

Solution 1: (by a Soft Zionist)

Palestine was only a piece of Arab land

Oil rich countries, with plenty in hand

All we want is “peace”, so, why not divide?

93:7 seems a fair deal .so, hurry up, and decide

We’ll cage all the terrorists, to be safe and sound

Only 3 million, hope you don’t mind

S=W+ P +J + F

X+Y+A = 93    Z+B = 7

Security =  war + peace + justice + freedom

Aggressive Occupation = 93          Resistance= 7

—————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Solution 2: (by a Right Wing Christian Zionist)

Palestine is a third world country

Backwards, uncivilized

Just give it all away

To some-one more deserving

Who looks more like us

Until the second coming

Of a “violent” Jesus Christ

Who will kill all the “badies”

And give us eternal life

And forever remember

In the dictionary of power

 Might is always right

The struggle for freedom

Is the twin-half of terror

So, bombard the natives

With ethics so superior

To give up resistance

And live as inferiors

Teach them our morality

Of turning the other cheek

It’s gracious, it’s noble and obviously sleek

P = Σ W + S – F – J

X+Y+A = 100     Z+B = 0

Peace =  catastrophic wars +  security   – freedom – justice

Aggressive Occupation = 100              Resistance= 0

 ————————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Solution 3: (by an Average Zionists)

It’s very complicated, you see

Israel” is a tiny peaceful country

With unidentified borders

And a shape so absurd

Swamped by a sea of hatred

Of terrorist Arabs, all around

Fairly and truly

In order to survive

With safety and security

All intact

We need much  much more land

And in the mean time

We’ll keep the Palestinians under our eyes

Crush their spirits, with even more lies

Until one day, they loose all the hope

They’ll give up and  go

“Voluntary transferred

A pureJewish state

 Only then, will be declared

S = 235 W – F – J + p

 X+Y+A = 500      Z+B = – 300

& redefine p as :     P = piece of land

Security = 235 wars – freedom – justice + a piece of land

Aggressive Occupation = 500           Resistance = -300

————————————————————————————————————————————–

Solution 4: (by an Ordinary Person)

Palestine is the holy land

It’s a treasure for all mankind

It’s an easy problem, if we use our mind

Start by correcting all the wrongs

Making them right

Give the Palestinians their own homes back

Return of refugees is a must, all right

Disarm the Zionist; the law of fairness is a fundamental fact

Theft of a whole country is a Crime Against Humanity

You want your redemption, give it all back

P + S =  F + J – W

 If  X+Y+B=0         Z+B=0

Peace + security = freedom + justice – war

If   Aggressive Occupation = 0                   Resistance= 0

Just a passer-by

Just a passer-by

After the murder of 12 years old Muhammed Eddurra live on TV, I used to wear an apron with his photo on it and stand in town as a sign of protest against this vile crime, one day a man came up to me expressing his support and admiration to the Palestinian people, I wrote the meaning of what he said in this poem.

He didn’t even say his name

Just a passer-by

He wasn’t after wealth or fame

Swiftly went the way he came

A heavenly fragrance, a gentle breeze

Soothing my suffering, pain and shame

His few kind words

Kissed better my sore, painful wounds

Caused by years of occupation…

“You, the Palestinian nation

The bravest of all, no exaggeration

Yours is the battle of every generation

Your sacrifice is beyond imagination

You’re humanity’s torch and inspiration”

I bowed my head down

In appreciation!!!

Heaven can’t wait

Two human souls

Standing face to face

One with his guns

One with a stone

24765_345085476306_306817171306_4015728_2572260_n

In a moment of eternity

A soul shone with dignity

And a handful of pebble

A head held up so high

Reaching out, to the sky

34747_409466676306_306817171306_4978545_2446919_n

Armed with destruction

Hiding behind his tank

Aiming at the heart

Of the boy of the stone

“This is my chance

To rid the world of terror

Once and for all”

He proudly thought

205731_552072234803085_1660859213_n

What he didn’t know, then

That, heaven couldn’t wait

To welcome her baby

He’s been really late

For, heaven loves justice

And loves those who dare

To face up injustice

And always give and care

A mystical visit

A mystical visit

Climbing up a high ladder

Patiently…step by step

Through clouds

Deep into sky

There; on the very top… hanging

A piece of heaven

Stretching beyond time and space

Wrapped up in a sweet musky mist

Of the breath of angels and prophets

 White lilies and red poppies

Growing beneath the feet of girls and boys

As they gently walked hand in hand

Trees spoke of stories of legendry love

Gave fruit, that tastes of paradise

With songs of deep silence

Whispers of peace

And laughter of babies

Dancing rainbows celebrated

Up above…

Children with butterfly wings

Flew around their nests

Of green lanterns

That were hanging around the throne

Of the Most Merciful, Most high

In the horizon

Embroidered with letters of light

The name of this magical holy land

My home

PALESTINE

I have a dream

I have a dream

I have a dream

When they stop bombing

No more shelling

To rush outside

And up a tall tree

To tie a string

Make a swing

Fly up so high

And touch the blue sky

Leave my tears up there

To come down as rain…

I have a dream

When tanks leave the camp

No BING … BONG … BANG

To run out and see

The deep huge sea

To swim towards his heart

Jumping up and down

Wishshsh … washshsh

Splish … Splash

Wash all my fears away

I have a dream

When soldiers leave my town

And the camp walls fall down

To go outside

And sitting on the sand

Write a sad story

With my own hand

Then wait for the tide

To wash my pain away

I have a dream

When they lift the curfew

To skip outside

Holding in my hand

The string of my kite

Racing with the wind

Fly it up so high

Tying to its tail

All my nightmares

And with the fluffy clouds

Rinse them all away

I have a dream

When we free our land

To open all the doors

Invite the rainbow in

Holding on his hand

To dance with my heart

Going round and round

Twirling like a derwish

Gathering love and joy

In my right palm

And down the other hand

To every needy child

Give it all away!

Will I ever grow up again?

Will I ever grow up again?

Life on hold

My internal clock is shattered into pieces

The 37 years of forced exile

Have no record in my book of memories

Chapters of lost titles

Blank sheets; page after page

Unseen pictures with no lines

Mysterious characters with no faces

Images that have neither shape nor colour

Invisible words that have no letters

Nor meanings

A sad story with an unwritten script

Life on hold

IMG_5436

Ageing by the day

The head inflamed with grey hair

Swallowed by the dark sea of shame

Having to flee without facing the storm

Shaken by the gales of hurt and pain

With my roots uprooted

A freezing gloomy everlasting winter

Watching over my shoulders

Awaiting my decay

Life on hold

IMG_4234.jpeg

I was seven

I am seven

I will be seven

And I will stay seven

Until the day of my return

The pieces of my shattered clock

Will be put together, that day

And it will start ticking again

The pink and white blossoms of my spring

Will become something more than just a dream

I Believe in Miracles

You can break my bones

My free spirit is invincible

391111_275351952509996_923053845_n

You can cause me the loss of sight

The light of my insight

You’ll never take away

21677_313611545418610_1245555600_n

In the shadows of darkness

Lies the corpse of your might

 564009_524855707544271_243538453_n

You can destroy my house

The windows of my hope,

You cannot break

end-living

The pillars of my faith

You can never shake

 17768_524125147630056_505310098_n

You can threaten me

With weapons of death

And mass destruction

Implanting fear in my heart

You cannot achieve

My divine connection

  1354_643119885700775_233822394_n

With a missile

You can tear my body apart

My soul however

Is out of your reach

And is forever intact

 44527_607162145991014_1060876656_n

You claimed victory in six days!

Victorious are those

With a dignified gaze

Facing tanks with tender flesh

And only with stones,

The F16 fighter blaze

  9512_10152053685394456_1986135247_n

You can never defeat my will to be

Because my power that you cannot explain

Grows from within the roots of my pain

You depend on United States

For wealth and war supply

My infinite strength stems from
